    3. Hmmmmm - ha Laura Poteet's middle name was "Bell". Or, that is what we all called her. Lathan and I think [that's funny] that she was somehow related to Wes and Ruby Jackson. I'm almost sure she was in Jenita Woodard's class which would make her about 64 years of age. She didn't go to school at Banks for long periods of time, but was enrolled on several occasions. 2. Re: cemeteries In the Willoughby community where I grew up there was an Indian cemetery and mounds. We went there and dug up arrowheads and primitive tools. The last time I was there, there was no markers. We took metal detectors and located home place of someone. (parts of stove, dishes, nails). I am sure you can't drive to it now. This is where it is. From Old Camden Road, turn left on Wolfe lane. The lane at one time went all the way through to Potlatch Road. The cemetery was located about midway between the two roads. Davis Cemetery on the road to Godfrey plane is no longer there. They have clear cut the land and all signs of the cemetery or marker are gone... I could not find anything. Larry ******************************** *This is very sad and it is also against the law. It might have been done before the law was passed. Members of my family bought a new footstone to place on my grandfather's unmarked grave in a Howard Co cemetery that had been neglected and grown up. We all carried loppers and saws and tools to clear and clean and lay the marker. When we drove up to the cemetery, a man was on a dozer and had already dozed over some graves and was just about to clear the ground. I walked up and told him what we had come to do and he left immediately. He had been hired by the man who owned the land. It just happened that some other people from out of state drove up while we were there who had people buried there. Every one of us contacted the County Judge (sending a copy of the law and reminding him that it was his duty to protect the cemetery and see that it was accessable. We were hoping he would use prison labor and clean the whole cemetery since there were quite a few stones left and also more unmarked graves that people knew of. So far he has not done that.* *If we had not driven up when we did. That cemetery would have been wiped out and the old, old stones would have been piled in a heap and probably buried. We sort of felt that we were led there at the right moment.* **
