    3. Mary, I'm gonna scan this to Barbara to place on the webpage. I don't think you will get any clearer copy than I did, but if you want to try, the date is Feb 15, 1967. I'm also gonna scan another photo of the Sardis Methodist Church at Marsden. I thought I scanned a photo of North Oak Grove church, but apparently I didn't. My grandmother taught there after she was at Ouachita in the late l800's. I think she "roomed" at Hermitage. My grandfather lived at Hermitage. 2. bjw
    3. Does anyone have a decent picture of the Pattsville School? I made a paper copy that's pretty good, but thought someone might have a better one. This is the info attached to the photo: "This is the now-abandoned Pattsville School at Pattsville, east of Hermitage, where one teacher once taught eighty pupils in one room. The building was put up just after 1900, with the upstairs portion being used as a lodge hall by the Woodmen of the World. After the Woodmen moved elsewhere, an additional teacher was engaged and the two taught ten grades in the school building. Pattsville's school was consolidated with Hermitage before World Warr II, and the building was used for a time as a Baptist church. It is falling down now, but remains a fine example of what old-time country schoolhouses used to be." --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! There were [and I going on memory here] two brothers, James Garland Murry and Horace Jewell Murry who both pastored churches in Bradley Co. at one time. I "think" Garland was a Baptist minister, and it seems like Jewell was an Assembly of God minister. I'd like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of these two men. Thanks.
