Melissa, I remember getting a circa 1937 divorce document for Ashley County (maybe from Little Rock). On the LDS site, I can only find divorce records for Bradley County. They are within the Chancery Court from 1893 onward. Drew, Ashley, Cleveland, Grant, and Calhoun cos. all have generic court information on microfilm. I wonder how I would proceed to find that divorce document you queried me about. Information on A. G. Wilson (buried in Outlaw Cemetery) and family: wife Catherine; Catherine's mother -- Catherine Lague Wolf Savage and Catherine's father -- Amos Savage. Looking for A. G. Wilson's daughter--Mary Wilson who married a man named Brown. Mr. Brown had a wooden leg. Looking for marriage record of A. G. Wilson and Catherine. Not sure if it was in Arkansas (Bradley County) or Texas (Cass County/Marion County) or somewhere else. A. G. Wilson son of William B. Wilson of Cass/Marion County Texas. I work full time and can only research evenings and weekends, and only then, if my daughter does not visit and take over my computer. Started researching again when my oldest daughter gave me computer. Started with Texas maternal side of family. Now working on paternal side, which led to Arkansas. Your 26 messages were a treat. Usually only find a few messages from family and friends. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

Hi John, Have you been successful in finding a divorce record for William M. Ozment and Mary Ann Loveless Ozment? Their second daughter was born September 1882. Mary Ann was still living in 1900, so there must have been a divorce for William to be free to marry again in 1884. I just have not found record of it yet. --Melissa Quoting John Ozment <johnozment@hotmail.com>: William M. OZMENT b. 1856, Valley, Drew Co., AR d. aft. "Have you been successful in finding a divorce record for William M. Ozment and Mary Ann Loveless Ozment? Their second daughter was born September 1882."--Melissa -------------------------------------- Second daughter: Mollie (Ozment) McGough (1882-1980) A.: I haven't found such a divorce record yet (1880-84). Maybe I should look in varied counties, apart from Drew Co. In which counties have you looked so far? Similarly, I haven't found one for Louiza's first marriage. She wed in 1877, but had a "D" in the 1880 census. In Alabama, I found a book of divorce records for early Montgomery Co., but my Sarah/Sally was not in it, either, circa 1830. Maybe it's a problem with that time period. I did find a divorce record from the 1930s in Bradley Co. Similarly, I found a mother's permission for her daughter to marry in 1909. The 20th Century brought more complete records, it seems.
I am researching the following surnames in Bradley County: - Loveless (descendants of John W. Loveless of Drew County) - Knowles (descendants of Richard > William Knowles of Drew County) - Steadman (descendants of Edward Steadman & Esther Waters) - Hickman (descendants of Stephen Hickman & Cinderilla Castleberry) - Trussell (descendants of John W. Trussell & Elizabeth Johnson) - Castleberry (descendants of Robert Castleberry & Mary Forrest) - Brown (descendants of Andrew F. M. > John F. M. Brown & Mary Ann Marsh) Still unanswered questions; any help gratefully accepted: - Proof of Stephen Hickman's parentage (mother Cebrah? father ??) - Documentary proof of Elizabeth Johnson Trussell's maiden name - Proof that Mary Forrest Castleberry was Mary Forrest not Forrester - Maiden name of Andrew F. M. Brown's wife Sarah (Finch? French? other?) - Proof that John W. Loveless' wife Elizabeth was a Plunkett - Name of Richard Knowles' wife & William Knowles' mother - Burial place & death date of Esther Waters Steadman My guess is that we all have our lists of unanswered questions like these. Please post yours to the list and let's see if we can put our heads together and find the answers! --Melissa
