Alfred was born in Ste-Emelie-de-l'Energie, QC, as the 3rd of 14 children. He was also the first of Magloire and Leocadie's children to be baptized in the new parish church in Ste-Emelie. Around the time Alfred became a teenager, he and his family arrived in Ontario from Quebec, settling in the Waubaushene area. It was there that he married 18-year old Mary THERRIEN on 29 December 1890. Alfred and Mary welcomed 13 children into this world, 8 daughters and 5 sons. Over the years, Alfred toiled as a farmer, millhand, and general laborer. He was 69-years old when he died of cancer on 30 May 1929, in Waubaushene. Mary passed away on 18 September 1946. They were both buried in St John's Catholic Cemetery in Waubaushene. Alfred and Mary are accountable for 35 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
