Young Donald married 19-year old Geraldine FISHER in about 1948. They immediately began their family, which grew to include 4 children: Dean, Lisa, Scott, and Nancy. In the early 1950s, Donald answered his country's call to duty during the Korean Conflict. Shortly after this, he began a 30-year tenure at the Iberville Trust and Savings Bank as an insurance manager. Geraldine died in Plaquemine on 12 June 1991. Donald died there on 11 September 1995. Both of them were buried in the Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum in Plaquemine. At last count, Donald and Geraldine have 9 grandchildren.
