He did marry Mary Elizabeth VanZant in 1904 and they lived at Roff, Ok., George died 1918 there. George Milburn Baker and his first wife, Jamijah "Catherine" Gammon Baker had only one child;James "Barney" Barnett Baker born 1870 at Smith County, Texas. Catherine died in 1899 in a covered wagon on the trip from Texas to Oklahoma, she is buried at Palmer Cemetary, as is; Mary Elizabeth Baker, Milburn Baker, James Barney Baker, and Emma Baker. James "Barney" Baker and his wife; Emma Louella Swiger Baker had 13 Children, the fifth child was my Grandfather; Robert Victor Baker. My Father was Robert Quay Baker he was born at Horseshoe Ranch, Ok where they worked and lived for some time after "Barney" died in 1912. Emma was left with the 13 children, the youngest Gussie Alice Baker Davenport lived in Ada, Ok and I got to speak to her and her daughters before her passing in 2001. I would love to find out if any VanZant has any pictures, memorbilia or information on George Baker. 1920 Census has Mary Elizabeth living with her son, "Jake" (John Jacob Smith VanZant)in Marshal Ok, Stephens County.I would like to hear from some relatives.
