Does any one know the parents of Nancy CAMPBELL? She married Michael KIRKHAM ca in Virginia. He was in the Revolutionary War there. My Great Great Grandfather was Michael Campbell KIRKHAM . He was rheir grandsonn and married Elizabeth VENABLE ca in Georgia and their family moved to Carrollton, Carroll Co., AR in 1854. Rex Wise who is also a descendant, lives at this time, on a part of the original farm that his Great Grandmother Ella Virginia (KIRKHAM) Reynolds inherited near Crrollton. My Great Grandfather was her brother William P. KIRKHAM who married in 1850 to Nancy Emaline HARVEY. She was the daughter of John and Abigail (COLE) HARVEY. My grandmother was Elizabeth Wright KIRKHAM and she married Alfred Eugene LEATHERS. They lived most of their married life in Carroll Co., AR where I was also born, there on their farm. Ann, I think you have something wrong in your Campbell family and may want to look into it further. I think it highly unlikely that a man born in 1898 renovated the Cowdrey house into the Red Raven Inn ca 1985. The Red Raven Inn in Yellville, Marion Co, did not exist as such until approximately 1985. Originally it was known as the Cowdrey house because Dr Cowdrey built it about 1907-1909. It remained in the Cowdrey family until the late 1970s when it was sold to Lloyd Blasdel. He, in turn, sold it about 1985 to Jane Bradley. She was from Texas - wife of a doctor who was killed when his plane crashed in October 1988. Miss Cowdrey, the last of the Cowdrey owners, at one time had some floorboards on the third floor torn out and used for some changes to the downstairs. When Jane Bradley bought it, the original wallpaper was still on the walls. This Jane Bradley hired a man named Mijal from over around Eros about 1985 to remodel and modernize the Cowdrey house into a bed and breakfast. Two or three years after her husband was killed, Jane sold the place to Don Semelsberger. It remains the Red Raven Inn today.
