Looking for Lucinda Brumbelow, daughter of John Brumbelow Jr & wife Louisa, b. ca 1842 Carroll Co. Arkansas. She was not listed with her parents on the 1860 Census for Hunt Co. Texas where the family moved in the late 1850's. It may be that she married ~ but whether in Carroll Co. Arkansas or Hunt Co. Tx is up for grabs. Still at home and unmarried in 1880 census Boone Co. Cannot find anywhere in 1900 census! Can anyone tell me where he went to ? or maybe died? Is he in one of Cemeteries in Boone Co.? I have searched for a long time ,thinking he might have gone to Texas or Okla. with some of his brothers,but NOTHING!!Could also be in MO.? Just any tiny clue will be appreciated. He was the son of William Bailey and Elizabeth Kennymore Raines his Brothers and sisters were Mary 1st Married Christopher Loggains 2nd George Haskins [died 1879 in Boone Co Ark.] Pamela Priscilla married John W. Haskins [died 1899 in Ft Gibson,Okla. Rispa Francis married Carroll Loggains [died in Boone co 1873. Milly Samantha married Steven Loggains Robert Bailey married Louisa Jane Haskins died in Taney Co Mo 1871 John Allen married Mary Elizabeth Bly De Jurnette[a widow with 2 children .he died mar 9 1931 in Keokuk,Okla[my grandparents] The Raines left Walker Co Ala in 1868 went into Tenn for a short while then came to Boone Co Ark in the fall of 1869. The Haskin and Loggain families came with them. William Bailey Raines William was born 1819 in Ala. he was the son of James and Milla Barton Raines. James and Milla married oct 6 1818 in Lawrence co Ala then moved to Walker Co ala and lived out their lives there Milla died in 1843 then James married Susan??? James and Milla had 9 children they were; [1]William Bailey married Elizabeth Kennymore/Kennamor[various spellings found] [2] Francis married Byrd Cole[remained in Walker co [3] Hiram married 1st Phebe A. ??? 2nd Aseneth Adeline Abbott[remained in walker co ] [4]Rebecca married Isiah Williams[remained in Walker co] [5]Allen married Lucinda Robbins[killed in civil war] [6]James married Sarah Best[died shortly in or after the war] Massa J. Married James Mullins Margaret Ann [Peggy] married William Washington Abbott[bro to Aseneth] remained in walker co Milla [no record found on her as yet after 1850] James and his @nd wife Susan had 4 children [1]Lucinda married William Best [2]Sylvania married John Newton Pate[remained in Walker co] [3] Sinthia married Robert Williams [4]John [no record found after the war] all of James's Sons were in the Civil War .i have a list of the co. they served in James Raines was born 1793 in South Carolina he moved to Ala by 1818 .his brother Robert born 1786 came to ala with him . [he never married] Milla was born 1803 in North Carolina and was the Dau. of Moses and Fannie Barton . she is buried in the Sardis cem. in walker co. James died 1871 in Walker co i have additional info on the above families that i will share. Bad news --- the listing on the Boone web site is more current than what Mrs. Keeter has - she has NO Van Zants on her older list which was done in 1972 by the Home Demonstration Club then. I have a very close friend who was a Callahan and I believe her mother was a Van Zant(might not have that right)- anyway she is kin to the Van Zants some way or other. Her husband is the caretaker for Bellefonte Cemetery, BTW.
