Hello, I show a Gus Crumpler in my data base. My great grandmother was Adeline Elizabeth Crumpler York Goad. She was a sister to William Richard Crumpler, born March 2, 1840, in Rockford, Surry Co., NC. He died November 4, 1891, in Maulden Creek, AR. Adeline, with her three children, came to AR with her brother and his wife's family. Her second child, Sarah Elizabeth York, was my grandmother. Will be happy to hear from you and exchange data. Sincerely, Dortha McElroy Greenlee
Who are your Brown ancestors? I am trying to find the parents of my g-grandfather Charles Milton Brown, born April 16, 1866 (possibly 1876) and also possibly in Tennessee. Family story is that his parents died when he was young and he was raised by a family named Fulbright. Supposedly carried the mail as a young man between Harrison & Valley Springs. Married Lou Emma Wheeler about 1892. Moved sometime after marriage to Texas, then into Indian Territory where my grandmother Gladys Pearl Brown was born and then back and forth between Texas & Oklahoma before finally setting in OK. Yes Venita, this is the same Creel Hopper. I am not directly related, but we are through the Parton line. Charlie Parton is my husband's great grandfather. I see Delores Sutton has responded to you. She and I started on all this about the same time. My daughter has been working at computerizing all her records and have seen lots of your information. Tonya has a very large file on Hoppers/Partons/Parks/Brittian/ Bly. She will be glad to share with you. Her email is jmwtlw@aol.com. Reta

It is believed that Albert returned to Indiana before 1861, as he was not present at the time of the 1850 Census for Carroll Co. Arkansas with his brother John & family. John & Albert's mother, Nancy Bardell Stiffler died in 1839 and their father George remarried to Elizabeth Lines in Rush Co., Indiana and began a whole new family. At that time, several of the children from George's 1st marriage to Nancy "bailed" ~ seeking their own places. One descendant states to have found evidence that John & Albert were in Marion Co. Arkansas as early as 1841, where the two brothers were trappers. Albert went into town and purchased land in what is now Harrison, Boone Co. Arkansas, and brother John & wife Martha set up household there & lived there for almost 20 years. One of the historical sites in downtown Harrison, Arkansas that is included in the walking tour is "STIFFLER SPRINGS" ~ which was part of the original Stiffler property. Albert returned to Indiana, and when he came back he was married to Harriet, so we knew he had to have married her in Indiana. I will be posting more on the family of Albert & Harriet over the next couple weeks as I "dig" it out of my hard-copy files and get it on the computer. Several of their descendants still live in the Nixa, Christian Co., Missouri area, and several descendants of John B. & Martha Ann Brumbelow Stiffler still live in the Forsth, Taney Co., Missouri area. Albert & Harriet appear in Christian Co., Missouri by the 1870 U.S. Census, as does brother John & family. ~gina thomas patterson~ > Subj: Re: Albert Stiffler > Date: 07/22/2001 9:20:54 AM Pacific Daylight Time > From: kegan@hotmail.com (K Egan) > Reply-to: STIFFLER-L@rootsweb.com > To: STIFFLER-L@rootsweb.com > > Timewise, Albert was born in PA in 1823. My ggmother was May Horton who married George W. Patton in Belefonte, Ark. on May 21, 1898. They had a couple of children born in Belefonte. James McKinley Patton and Ida Ellen Patton. They later had some children in Ok. and moved to Texas and New Mexico and later Memphis, Tx where she died. May was married to a Thomas before the Patton, then a Mason and she was a Ledbetter when she died. George Patton died May 15, 1914 in Memphis, Tx. May died Dec. 24, 1952 in Memphis area.
I am looking for a Horton. George W. Patton married May Horton in Belefonte, Ark. May 21, 1898. If anyone knows George's family, I need some information on them also. Thanks Eddie
I don't know if this will help or not, but there are alot of Hale families that were originally in Carroll/Boone Co's that moved to the Hunt/Erath Co areas in Texas at the same time my Brumbelow families went. Also going - Keith, Gillentine, Ragsdale, Campbell ~ several of these families came out of Tennesse, then to Carroll/Boone Co's, then on to Texas. Capt. Hale's regiment in the CSA was quite active in Hunt Co. TX, they later became known as the 1st Batallion Texas Sharpshooters. I have 2 Hale families that intermarried with my Brumbelow & allied families in Texas. ~gina~ > Subj: [ARBOONE] Hale > Date: 07/23/2001 9:31:08 AM Pacific Daylight Time > From: kenjudyj@ix.netcom.com (Ken and Judy Jackson) > To: ARBOONE-L@rootsweb.com > > Anyone have a George Hale in their ancestry, who married Mahala (Haley) > Harmon unk date but she was born in 1864 in Howell Co MO.
