Hi All - Received a very excited phone call from some kin who just moved to Arkansas ~ they had visited a library & found a bio in the History of Boone Co. ARK that mentioned Dovie Mae Dalgaren, who was the daughter of John & Margaret Manes, who was a son of Pleasant R. Manes & Mary Lane. Would anyone know which History of Boone Co. this may have come from, and if possible, would anyone be able & willing to obtain a photocopy of this bio for me along with the title & copywrite pages? I'd be more than happy to pay for costs. ~gina~ My Arkansas Kin: Stiffler, Manus/Manes, Samples, Carsten, Tye, McCarty, Brumbelow, Potts please visit my website at www.burningskyenterprises.com home - http://hometown.aol.com/ginaburningsky/BurningSkyhomepage.html SoCalPowwows - http://hometown.aol.com/ginaburningsky/BurningSkySoCalpowwows.html family album - http://www.geocities.com/ginaburningsky4/burningskyent_genealogy.html

That same website address has been posted to mailing lists from everywhere with location changed. Probably another commercial site starting up and using other people's data from places like rootsweb world connect site and familytree maker site. Earl D. House
This is more spam. You cannot return email to the address listed as sender. Earl D. House
Thanks, Earl. Been reading commentary like yours so checked it out for myself. There's sure as shootin' nothing even connected with the site that's active. Sounds, as you said, like a potential hijacked data commercial site. And every response to it proves to them they have an active email address to "play" with. Think I'll put it in my Block Sender file so I'll quit being bothered with it. Apparently this is some sort of scam. At least that's what several have said about it. When I went there, I found zilch - nothing - nada. Just a bunch of promises. Every link to every page I tried to go to came back with that "This page cannot be found" message. Why this is being touted as a "great Boone Co" genealogy site, I can't imagine. I'll bet there haven't been anywhere near a billion people living in Boone Co AR since its inception in 1869, let alone a billion names. Do they change the county name for each county they send to? Go ahead and check it out and see for yourselves. Just thought I'd let you know what I've heard and found. I found a great Boone County Genealogy Site: http://65.10.15.149/FreeGen/Home.html They will be adding over 1 billion names to their online database over the next few months.
Reuben Maynard was born about 1807 in TN and died PROBABLY in Boone County, AR and probably in the 1880s. He was a day laborer. He married Mary Wood, born TN about 1804. Together they had: 1. Joseph Lawrence Maynard who died in AR ca 1863-64 and married to Hannah Wood ca. 1860 in Marion County, AR; 2. George W. Maynard born about 1846 TN, died 16 Sept 1924, married to Charity Wood 21 May 1868, and they had 9 children; 3. Martha J. Maynard; 4. Juda A. Maynard; 5. Elizabeth Maynard born ca 1836; 6. Nicholas H. Maynard born ca. 1839; 7. Joel L. Maynard born ca. 1842; 8. Reuben Maynard born ca. 1844 AR. In Land Records in Boone County, AR Reuben J. Maynard owned three tracts of land in 1891. The 1870 US Census of Boone County, AR, PO Mt. Pleasant, Prairie Township, House #175-173 shows Reuben Maynard 63 born TN farmer; Mary A. Maynard 66 born TN keeping house; Hannah Maynard 25 born AR; Martha Maynard 8, born AR; Reuben J. Maynard 6 born AR. The above Hannah Maynard was the widow of Joseph Lawrence Maynard, son of the above Reuben and Mary, who died ca. 1863-64 in Marion or Boone County, AR. Martha and Reuben Jackson Maynard were their children. A deposition made by Hannah Wood Maynard Yourd in December 1914 near Lowry, Cherokee County, OK #986-219, gives her age as 70, stated she moved there four months previous, making claim to the pension of Hugh Yourd who died 12 April 1912 near Keener, AR, that her sister was Charity who married George Maynard and lived Bellfont, Boone County, AR and her half sister was Daisy who married Frank Underwood and lived at Eros, Marion County, AR, and her sister was Sallie who married Tom Branscomb and lived Stone County, AR and her brothers Berry and Joe Wood went to TX many years before. She married first Joseph Maynard, and he was killed 3-4 miles from home; married second Bracket E. Stewart near Buffalo, Dallas County, MO about 1866 and she could not prove his death, but stated he and another man went away to make money and never returned and she lived near Buffalo until about 1867 when she went back to her old home in Boone County, AR, and married third Hugh Yourd in December 188! 7. No children by Yourd. A deposition at the same time by William B. Wood of Siloam Springs, Benton County, AR, age 70, a cousin to Hannah Wood Yourd stated that he lived close to her for some years, and that Joseph Maynard, a Confederate soldier, was found shot dead in 1863 or 1864. He stated that Hannah separated from Brackett E. Stewart. William B. Wood knew Hugh Yourd 15-20 years before he married Hannah. A deposition in March 1915 by Miss Hannah Wood, Harrison, Boone County, AR states that she was a cousin to Hannah Woods Yourd and knew her all of her life, Hannah Yourd being somewhat older than herself, that Hannah Wood Maynard Stewart Yourd married Joel Maynard between Harrison and Yellville, AR and Maynard was killed in Marion County during the Civil War about 10 miles from Yellville toward Harrison and was home on furlough, killed by Federals. Hannah Woods Yourd married 2nd Brackett Steward where "we all went during the Civil War troubles" and they lived together about a year and had one child and he went a way and we heard later he was dead. She then returned to her old neighborhood and lived with Reuben Maynard, father of her first husband, till he died, and she married Hugh Yourd. [The one child of Hannah Wood[s] and Barckett Evans Stewart was Joel Evans Stewart born 22 June 1866 Dallas County, MO and died at Sand Springs, OK husband of Nancy Jane Thomas. [No connection, no further research offered.]

Is there a sexton, cemetery assn. president, etc. for the Omaha Cemetery who would have records of who's buried there. I think my gg grandmother, Olive Williams, may be buried in an unmarked grave. She died in 1882. Her husband, T.M. Williams, and his 2nd wife, Arminta, are buried in marked graves. There are unmarked graves just to the south of their markers. -- Ron Powell Fort Smith, AR
