I am most appreciative of the transcription of the census records, now wonder if I should also look for Walls name in seeking the brick wall for the name Wills. In the Census transcriptions the following information should be Wills instead of Walls .... Walls Grady 25 ark Virdine 20 Carl 1 marji in se washington state

Lead Hill is *not* a township in Boone Co and never has been. Lead Hill is a town in Sugar Loaf Township in Boone Co. It was in Sugar Loaf Township in Marion Co before Boone Co was created in 1869. There has been a Sugar Loaf Township in both Boone Co and Marion Co since the 1869 creation of Boone Co. Lowry is *not* a township in Boone Co and never has been. It's a town just south of the Missouri border. It is southwest of the Tucker Hollow Campground in Boone Co. It's north of RT 14 and west of RT 281. Pretty sure it's in Sugar Loaf Township, but it *might* be in Omaha Township. The Assessor's Office in the Boone Co courthouse in Harrison should be able to verify this for you. Bull Shoals Lake was created when Bull Shoals Dam was built across White River in 1952. This lake does *not* cover Lowry. Check with the Boone Co Library or the Boone Co Historical Society or the Boone Co Genealogical Society to determine whether any sort of written history exists for the towns of Lead Hill and Lowry. The Boone Co web page can assist you in contacting these places http://rootsweb.com/~arboone/boone/ Mysty shakerag@mtnhome.com ********************************************** ----- Original Message ----- From: <drainessutton@juno.com> To: <ARBOONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 5:20 AM Subject: [ARBOONE] HISTORY OF LEAD HILL AND LOWERY ARK[BOONE CO] > Could someone tell me: > when did Lead Hill become a township. > When did Lowery become a township. > when was the lake built over Lowery? > > Is there a Written history of these 2 towns? > Thanks Dolores > > > > > ________________________________________________________________ > Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today > Only $9.95 per month! > Visit www.juno.com > > > ==== ARBOONE Mailing List ==== > Do you have a suggestion you think is worthwhile? Hi! My Cantrell's moved into Sugarlaof about 1870 from Transylvania Co, NC. Thomas Cantrell and Arcada Williams Cantrell and their children (his and theirs.) are listed in the 1880 Boone Co, AR census. Then, some of them in the 1900 Boone Co census. Thomas is out of Richard Cantrill of Derbyshire, England>PA. His lineage from Richard is as follows: Richard and Dorothy Jones Cantrill>Joseph and Catherine (??) Cantrell>Isaac and Talitha Cloud Cantrell>Reuben and ???> Samuel and Mary Giles Cantrell>Thomas md. 1st Mary 'Polly'Fisher; md. 2nd Charlotte Arcada 'Kadie' Williams. The children of Thomas and Polly who made the trek to AR were: Milley Cantrell who md. Andy Taylor; Allen Ammons Cantrell who md. Mary J. Honeycutt; and, Thomas P. Cantrell who md. Dora A. Hall. The children of Thomas and Kadie are: James E. Cantrell; George E. Cantrell md. Rosy Woods; Nancy E. Cantrell md. Jacob Honeycutt; Daniel Webster Robert Cantrell md. Sophia Baker and Mary Ann Hall; Noah Cantrell; and Reuben Cantrell. From George E. Cantrell and on down were all born in AR-the rest in Transylvania Co, NC (or Henderson Co, NC as it was prior to 1861.) My g-grandfather, Alfred and other brothers helped their father move to AR, but soon returned to the mountains of NC-SC. One of them stayed in TN around present-day Memphis. I have some of the descendants of the children that went to AR, but wanted to check the census to see how many of them stayed there. I know Daniel Webster Cantrell's family went to OK. I have some information on the descendants. Patricia A. Kit Carson Fancher, survivor of the Mountain Meadows Massacre of 1857, was adopted into the family of his First Cousin, once removed Hampton Fancher. Kit died around 1874 in the Lead Hill area where the Hampton Fancher family was living at that time. This is also where Hamptons mother, Elizabeth Carlock Fancher lived after her own husbands death in 1866. I am looking for any record, Bible entry, obituary, ANYTHING, that will give me better information about the exact date of his (Kits) death and the cause of death. If anyone knows of school records for Kit that would have existed in Carroll Co. that would be helpful, too) Lynn-Marie Fancher

Does anyone recognize this prose? -- THE BEST MEMORY SYSTEM Forget each kindness that you do as soon as you have done it, Forget the praise that falls to you the moment you have won it; Forget the slander that you hear before you can repeat it, Forget each slight, each spite, each sneer wherever you may meet it, Remember every kindness done to you whatever its measure. Remember praise by others won and pour it on with pleasure, Remember every promise made and keep it to the letter, Remember those who lend you aid and be a grateful debtor, Remember all the happiness that comes your way in living; Forget each worry and distress, be hopeful, and forgiving; Remember good, remember truth, remember Heaven's above you, And you will find through age and youth that many hearts will love you. Found among Grandma Margaret's recipes and pictures, thought to have been either copied or written by Grandpa Grover Cleveland Cochran (1884-1970).
