    1. John R Manley and family
    2. gayle
    3. John (R?) Manley born about 1856/7 in AR was married to M E Manley (Marita E according to later census) 14 Jan 1877. The 1880 census shows they had a child Minnie Manley born in 1880. Some one sent information that there was a J R Manley who died in 1909 according to "Logan's Baptist Association Book, page 540" However, I do not know where Logan's Baptist Association was located nor if this is the same person. I have been unable to find this family in the 1900 census. Does anyone have any suggestions? Gayle in Kansas

    3. Jan I can't help you with what happened to James or Sarah MANLEY WARD but they are in my data base (Caleb being the brother of my William Manley. Perhaps we can work together to find more information. There are some things I haven't been able to check such as the possibility of probate work or an obituary for Caleb in 1910. The obit (even if there is one) probably won't say anything about his deceased daughter and when she died but we can hope. Probate work might mention his grandchildren by name and sometime address. I am assuming James Ward's children's obituaries haven't helped you. I assume you know that the Manley Cemetery was moved by the Corps of Engineers when the lake was built from it's location to a corner of the larger cemetery at Lead Hill. We have been there, but most of the stones are river stones and writing on them is gone if it ever existed. The Manley family has been a difficult one for me to trace, and I am guessing it may be the same for many of the Boone County families. Gayle in Kansas

    1. Hodge Podge Information
    2. Jan Kelley
    3. Hi Everyone, I'm hoping if I put down all that I know on this family, that someone may be able to connect to it, or know where I can get the information I need. I'm searching for information on my James Ward family: James Ward was born in 1847 (not sure in Arkansas or Tennessee) married Sarah Manley who was born in 1850 in Boone County, Arkansas (father Caleb Manley) Their children were: Mary Ella Ward (Smith)-Have information on her Nancy Ward born in 1871 in Boone County, Arkansas-Have nothing on her Lewis Ward born in 1876 in Protem, Taney County, Missouri-Have information on him Now, I can trace them, up to the 1880 census, but loose them after that. I have no idea what ever happened to Nancy or James Ward. Through a cousin of mine, I heard that he (James) remarried after Sarah Manley/Ward died, one or more times, one time to a Mrs. Schultz (spelling may be off), and she was related somehow to a Oscar Hunter. She lived to be quite old, and I gather died in Taney County, Missouri. Can anyone out there help me put these puzzle pieces together? I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thank you, Jan Kelley bhdjkelley@hotmail.com

    1. Re: [ARBOONE] Fw: [ARMar] Ancestry to begin charging for One World Tree
    2. Piglet
    3. Ancestry is *not* charging for access to trees or selling trees: access will remain free from both the RootsWeb and Ancestry side as it has always been. What Ancestry is offering for an extra charge is access to a special search engine to search the trees for you. Folks can still search the trees manually or browse the trees for free the same way they always have. Think of it as a research assistant: you can hire someone to help you look for your ancestors, or you can research yourself for free. Hiring a human research assistant doesn't sell them the data being researched, or change the rules so that only they are allowed to look. That's essentially what it is, except that it's computerized, not human. On 5/4/04 00:46, shakerag@mtnhome.com shared this thought: > This is something each of us needs to be aware of. 1. Links to FREE Fam Trees.
    2. W. Wilton
    3. The one big Free Fam Posting of Trees is here. go to www.rootsweb.com Then pick World Connect Family Trees from list of places to go as you scroll down on left side. When form comes up fill in form sometimes you have to just use first name and surname and may habe to just use an initial. Have to also use the Advanced Form which you can click onto above the 2 lines for name. It will give more options to fill in. Just use mnames and sometimes places or yr born with a variation etc. You can do the same with Ancestry.Com by looking at the pages yourself. I don't like it when they tell you with the ad's on the pages to search here and then ask for money. Just don't go into them. Maxine willma@sprynet.com

    2. I just went there to see and it looks like they won't show anything found in the search engine without a subscription. Unless I did something incorrectly, they are ALREADY charging for access to the "trees". Some of the hits for the name I typed in were obviously wrong, but to see if any were good, one needed to subscribe. I had to laugh ... now that it isn't free, I had to go look! : ) ron in CA -----Original Message----- From: Mysty McPherson <shakerag@mtnhome.com> Sent: May 3, 2004 10:46 PM To: ARBOONE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARBOONE] Fw: [ARMar] Ancestry to begin charging for One World Tree This is something each of us needs to be aware of. 1. Harvey "Ozro" BELDEN
    2. Hi, Hope someone can give me some suggestions for further research. I am trying to find out what happened to Harvey "Ozro" Belden, b. 14 Nov 1823, Farmington, Trumbull Co, OH. Lost track of him in 1860. Various names are H O, O H, Ozro. Just recently found his son's, Charles Carroll Belden, obit. It states that his father moved to Arkansas and died there. Found this entry in the IGI: Harvey Ozro Belden, Death: 1896 Lead Hill, Boone, Arkansas; no other information. Found this entry in the US Genweb, Boone Co cemeteries online: Willis Cemetery 1. Belden, O.H. - n d ExH 1972. I feel there is a pretty good chance this is my man but with no date on the headstone and no source info on the IGI entry I am not sure what to do next. Any idea where that death date may have been found? Any tips would be much appreciated. Thank you, Pam Belden pbelden006@bellsouth.net
