I received the following note concerning the Crooked Creek Church Records we have on our website and felt the information Paul included was very important and was probably needed by someone out there. Reta > Subj: Crooked Creek Church records > > I was so very pleased to find the website where you have transcribed > the Crooked Creek church records. > > I knew that my family lived in the area and had read where my great > great grandmother Mary Keith (1821-1912) became a Christian, joined the > church and was baptized by Rev. The records also show the church activates of my > great great great grandfather J. B. Keith who became a member on > October of 1835. > > Elizabeth “Betsey” Keith, one of J. B. Ladies and Gentlemen: In one of my searches for information I came across your e-mail address. My mother's family was from the northwest corner of Arkansas generally. The Family name of my Grandmother was Todd. Her third husband's (?) last name and my mothers maiden name was Lowman. My grandmother's name before she married was Magnolia (Nolia) Elizabeth Todd. She died around 1964 in Farmington, Arkasas and is burried in the Farmington cemetary under the name of Magnolia Elizabeth Lowman. I am trying to trace her family background, both the Todd and Lowman sides especially, and haven't had much success. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any suggestions which you might offer. I am a member of Ancestry.com. You can contact me at the e-mail address listed above. Respectfully, Bob Curtis, Instructor of the Clarinet _______________________________________________________ _________ Sent via the WebMail system at wcnet.net

This was in the Harrison Daily Times: Thought this might interest someone. There is a picture of the stone in the paper. Email me for link: Top Stories Old home yields old headstone STOCKTON--A name from the past resurfaced on this headstone, found by Charlie Argall buried in the foundation of an old home on the Argall farm, west of Stockton on Highway 32. While digging up an old home foundation on the Argall farm west of Stockton, Charlie Argall unearthed an old headstone. The stone, inscribed with the name James H. Yost, is dated Aug. 30, 1857-Jan. 11, 1909. Doves are carved on all four sides and below the name, a poem reads: His toils are past, His work is done. He fought the fight, The victory won. Argall said he believes the home and property once belonged to Oscar and Effie Hedges, and Effie's maiden name may have been Yost. Anyone with information can call Argall at 276-4002 or 276-9067. I have a picture I believe was taken before 1920. Actually believe it may be before 1900. It is of William Henry (Bill) Mooneyham born 1850-51 in Tennessee Elizabeth (Betty) Wood Mooneyham born 1850-51 in Arkansas They married about 1877 had 6 children and 3 were living in 1910. No one was living with them in 1910. Also in the picture is Elsie May Greene (daughter of Ross and Prudy Greene) Charlie and Lawrence Alcorn and Irene Justus Lafferty. The way this picture was named on the back, I am guessing who is who. I believe this ties into my Green/DeShields line. Please let me know if you know how they tie in. I believe they may be their grandchildren. Have information to share and will be glad to send jpg of the picture. Reta DeShields Parton rpsodapop@aol.com
