    2. W David Samuelsen
    3. Today marks the last day Rootsweb mailing lists working. Tomorrow, the Rootsweb mailing lists are no more. All messages that had been posted here are saved and archived, will continue to be accessed and read. Subscription, no more Postings, no more Replies, no more BUT ! Successor lists are here, but at another place The successor list for this list is: https://groups.io/g/Arkansas-Genealogy sorry, no county list for this one, yet but the list owner may create "subgroup" for the county alone, within this state list. Go to the site and "join this group". This is easy step. David Samuelsen, subscriber

    2. W David Samuelsen
    3. This Rootsweb list will shut down 2 March 2020 per Ancestry's decision Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails.  Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. I do not wish to leave you in dark when the old list shut down all of a sudden. I invite you to migrate over to the new list. 67 members already moved to the new list. There are features you can use, not available at Rootsweb. Photos, files allowed. County hashtags to filter you to specific counties. Expandable. Go to the site first, to join Scroll down to the blue button where it says "Join this Group". https://groups.io/g/Arkansas-Genealogy W David Samuelsen

    3. I found a favorite exchange with Mysty on the list...2009? wow. I am still here, sure hope Mysty is also. My purpose today is to ask that two Stone family deaths be checked. The family was William Pitchford Stone and Sarah Elizabeth Stone and I am looking for an obit on Sarah Elizabeth ...also their last son...Wesley said to be about 10 or 11 at death. We believe both died in the same wave of illness going thru the country, a little before 1900. ron stone sacramento On 12/6/2009 9:31 PM, Ron Stone wrote: > I wasn't sure that anyone besides me felt that way anymore. 3. This non-profit service organization for ladies who have lineage from an ancestor who served during the years 1784-1815, now has its third chapter in Arkansas in Bella Vista. Little Rock and Pine Bluff have chapters and Texarkana is working on one. After a lot of work the group in Bella Vista decided to name their chapter the Thomas H. Flippin Chapter, honoring one of the early Flippin family of Marion county. They have a nice web site up and running as does the national organization. They are planning a ceremony at the grave site of Thomas H. Flippin, in the Flippin Cemetery, when the weather moderates somewhat, to place the honorary U. S. D. 1812 flagstick. There is a very wide variety of wars and service that an ancestor could have participated in to qualify members. Members of this new chapter in Bella Vista tell me they would be pleased to assist in helping to organize a chapter in North Central Arkansas if we could get enough ladies interested. I will be glad to provide Names, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses if you will contact me direct. I don’t think I am permitted to site their web site but it is easy to find and very informative. Anyone interested? There is also a group for men, they are just getting started in Little Rock and are still taking Charter membership applications. Let me know if I can help. Don
