    3. <http://www.familysearch.org> is the url for the LDS Family Search. The search tab opens to the search feature. The 1880 US census is indexed and easily searched. You may also search the Social Security Death. The other files are compiled from submissions by church members and others who are sharing their family data. NOTE, since this data is the result of individual research it may contain errors. Since we all make mistakes, I suggest the Family search data be independently verified. The library tab opens the Family History LIbrary catalog. Many of you are already aware that you may visit a local Family History Center and order the films and fiche to read at the center. Because of the extensive daily use books are available only in the Family History Library. All of us who use the books, films, etc from the Family History Library collection are indebted to those faithful members for their dedication to family history and the generous way they share with those of us who are not members of their faith. The Federation of Genealogical Societies and the Utah Genelogical Society of Utah ared holding a conference for the nation's genealogist in Salt Lake September 7 -10. I understand the library is extending the hours during the conference for those who are attending lectures and meetings to also be able to do some research. If you are interested in the Conference visit FGS at <www.fgs.org>. I have also been advised to "google for my ancestors" using the Google search engine.
