According to the 1900 Gentry, Benton Co., AR Census, she was born in Dec. 1844, AL and called Mariah J. In the 1910 Gentry, Benton Co., AR Census, she is called “Miriah J ” and had been married 47 years which would make them marrying about 1863 but I haven’t been able to find a marriage record online. In the 1880 Round Prairie, Benton Co., AR Census, she is listed as Josephine, 36 b. In AL . I need to locate a marriage record and/or at least an obit of his or hers that would indicate her maiden surname. The AR Death Index states that he died on Feb 14, 1927 in Benton County and she died Dec. 12, 1926 in Benton County . Does anyone on the list know a site online that might have their obits or possible the Funeral home in Gentry that is online. I’ve checked the online Marriages for Benton for the time period but they were not listed. In the 1880 Census, their first child listed is Emma E., 16 born in MO and then John W., 13, MO; Nancy J., 11, MO; and Marvin T., 10 MO. The next 3 children were born in AR being Robert H. 7=b. ABT. 1873 in AR so maybe they were in MO for their marriage but without her maiden name, I’ve been unable to find where they could have been. Is there anyone on the list related to this CARL family that could shed some light on this problem or is there a genealogy angel that would happen to know of a marriage index or possibly some funeral home data online?
