While I do not have information regarding your particular Martin family, I would be interested in learning more about them and information you receive on this family. I am a descendent of Gallatin Martin (b. 1809, KY), the son of Abner Martin (b. 1767, Spotsylvnia, VA) and Nancy Gordon (b. abt. 1771) (m. 07 May 1790, Mercer Co, KY). In the 1850 census, Gallatin and wife Christina are in Crawford Co, AR, later settle and raise their family in Benton Co. Gallatin donated the original property for the Martin Cemetery and school (school no longer stands.) Hi. I just saw this. The Martin Cemetery at LaRue Arkansas was donated by my Grand fathers ancestors. I do not know there name. My great grandmother Ellen McGinnis is buried there by my great?grandfather Joseph A Martin. They had a son Joseph Albert Martin but Joseph { great gran father} died before he was born. Ellen remarried Riley Dawson when Joseph was very small and they had 12 children. I dont know where the original Martins came from as I have had a hard time finding them. I do know Ellen and Dawson has a grand daughter Cleva Douglas who is 100 this yr and I believe is still alive, I have been in poor health but last year I spoke to her on the phone. I believe My great grand father's father is WN Martin and is buried in the Martin Cemetery. If this is helpful I do know mor of the Martin Family. My dad was raised between Rogers and Bentonville and the home place was blown up in the late 50s for Beaver dam. Thanks.?
