    3. Sometime, in the early 1870s, a bunch from Pickens County, MO moved to Benton County, AR. Among those that moved with my relatives were: * William G. Brown, Martha Goode Brown and their children: George W. Brown, Adolphus Lafayette (A. Le) Brown, Mary Brown, Martha S. Brown, Loretta Brown, Sarah Brown, and Barbary Brown * Siloam Goode, Luvenia Fowler Goode and their children: George D. A. Goode, Barbary A. Goode * William A. Goode * Luvenia Fowler Goode's brother, James Merrick Buchannan Fowler Most or all of the Darnells in Pickens County were Union supporters during the Civil War, and at least some were close to the Goodes who were also Union supporters - so they might have been part of the move. Benton County, according to their history, had about 1/3 Republicans in the 1890s, so ex-Union folks were fairly comfortable there. One other thing - some of those who moved West with the Cherokee (moved in the 1830s) but who supported the Union during the Civil War moved from Oklahoma to Missouri. So, if your guys were trying to meet up with some Cherokee kinfolk who supported the Union, that could be the reason for Missouri. He is my gggg-grandfather. I am researching his family as well. One of his son's, Miles Darnell is my ggg-grandfather (b. 22 Sep. 1838 in S.C. (d. 9 Jan. 1883 Mo.). They settled in S.W. Missouri. Had 11 kids. I have most all of their b & d. dates. As far as I can tell, Miles left the Pickens area with his wife Elizabeth Weaver (cherokee lineage) with 7 children between 1872 and 1874. Perhaps they came with Wm & Martha and Miles' siblings. According to some later censuses, two of Miles & Elizabeth's children were born in Ark. and I've been trying to find out where. Terriza Canna b. 10 Dec. 1874 & George Thomas b. 17 Apr. 1877. Is Sarah another child of Wm. & Martha? Do you have all of Wm. and Martha's kids names/dates? And, this unmarked cemetery, do you have more info on that? Tx. eyesoftheworld2000@yahoo.com --Gina Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
