They moved to Arkansas in the early 1830's. The township of Colville, Benton County, Arkansas was named for Joseph Colville. Joseph went to California during the Gold Rush and never returned. The story has it that he and his son, Andrew, were scalped by the Indians. Joseph and Annie Colville had thirteen children. Annie was known in the community as the melon lady as she raised melons to support her family. She is buried in Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell, Benton County, Arkansas. Their children were Sarah Lusk 1820 , Elizabeth 1822, Andrew G 1824, Samuel 1826, John Gamble 1828, Marvel Duncan, 1830, Margaret Jane (Eliza) 1832, Oliva A 1834, Laura C 1836, Robert 1841, and Adaline 1842. Margaret Jane married John D Ford in Benton County, Arkansas in 1851. They had four children: Josephus C (Joe) 1853, Olivia (Leva Ann) 1859, Martha J (Mattie) 1861 and Robert Lee (Bob) 1866. Robert Lee was my! great grandfather.They are all buried in Mt Hebron Cemetery except for Robert. He is buried in the Cave Springs Cemetery, Cave Springs, Arkansas.
