If the topo map that was posted is correct, then the north/south street would be either 34th or Valley West. Valley West is at the bottom of a hill, and is east of where the drive in was shown on the map. The next road west is 34th. The roads from north to south, with some exception are numbered, higher going west from downtown. The drive in was on flat land. and before Rogers grew, was approx. halfway between Rogers and Bentonville, at that time about 2-3 miles west of Rogers. 24th Street is just west of Walmart at the stoplight. I was looking at the map, and in reference to Westside School on W. Oak & 28th, the drive in was west of it, so the only roads going north that is west of 28th is Valley West and 34th, then 37th, 40th, etc, are too far west of where the drive in was. However, now that I think of it, 24th is the street with the older farm home on it, so the lady may be right. Wilma
Again, in the 1940's, the east-west railroad was a branch of the Frisco out of Rogers and was referred to as "The Bentonville Dinky". :-) Tom
