I am way behind on the obits at this time. I have a brand new computer, and have spent the last two days moving files from the old one to the new one. My hubby, bless his heart, finally got my separate hard drive that contains all the obit files, put in the new one last night, so I am almost ready to get caught up! He promised that he would get Office on tonight, so I can get into Excel and get caught up on indexing about a week's worth of August obits. Yeah!! There are at least three people that have asked for obits, and until I can access my database to find the date of issue, I can't pull them and get them to you. Back in the 1940's a Dewey Chambers married my Grandmother Helen Irene (Pearl) Harris nee McCullough--- I am not sure if she had another marriage between her first and Dewey. Anyway from the California Death records: Dewey Chambers died 29 Oct 1951 in Fresno, California; on the record it lists his birth place as Arkansas, and his Mother's maiden name as Lunsford.. Benton Country jail inmates worked all day repairing the fence and getting the cemetery cleaned.
