From what little I have found, she may be buried in Siloam Springs Cem. died 1914 and he may be buried in Oak Grove Cem. died 1917. A Hattie Miller, died 1965 is buried in Benton County Memorial Park and may have been the wife of Henry F. Jr. Seems like there were a lot of Millers in that part of AR. Annette

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5U.2ADI/3011.2 Message Board Post: I realize your post is an old one, but in case you're still researching this, I just wanted to post this info... I have several members of my family who lived in the Robinson community in the early 1900's to mid-1900's. In fact, some of my earliest and fondest memories are of going to Robinson, to the White Oak cemetery there, every Memorial Day for a big community get-together where people and relatives would clean up the cemetery and bring food and visit. To my 5-9 year old eyes, it seems like there was every food in the world there laid out on the tables inside the church. Everyone would bring one or more dishes and everything you could want to eat was there, from potato salad to fried chicken to every desert in the world. We lived in Gravette then, but each Memorial Day, we made that trek to Robinson and White Oak Church and cemetery, along with dozens of other families. People who lived in Robinson, especially in the early 1900's, are actually prone to being found in both Benton County and Washington County records -- more in Washington County than in Benton County. You'll find people from the Robinson community listed usually in Marrs Hill and Wheeler townships in Washington County. This is where most of my relatives are found. However, are you certain that the Jesse Gibson who died in 1915 in Benton County is the same Jesse Gibson you're looking for? There is a Jesse R. Gibson who married Louisa Russell on 20 May 1869 in Randolph County. But the Jesse Gibson who died in Benton County in 1915 is a Jesse W. Gibson. The Jesse R. Gibson who married Louisa Russell died 28 Jul 1927 in Warm Springs, Randolph, AR.

About 80% of all the Phillips' in Gravette at that time were from my family. I've checked my information, as well as the other Phillips' not related to me in Gravette and immediate area then, and I can find no male Phillips who's name began with a 'V'. There is Verna Phillips, but that is female, of course. Can you verify Mr. Phillips first name or initial? Or provide more info to cross-check?

    3. Would you have a date of birth for Mildred Bryan/Wear. This just may be what I am looking for as Bessie had a sister named Mamie and her only daught's name was Mildred. Sue -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, June 28, 2005 9:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ARBENTON] Smith/Luke/Budd/ Martin reasearch You are so welcome. I will send you some information now on the Bryan's and McClures as they relate to my mother's family that I am glad to share with you. I hope you find there is a connection. The Bryans (Charles and Mildred ) raised my grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth Hawkins, after her mother, Sarah Clementine (Lasiter) Hawkins died, when my grandmother Ruth was an infant. The Bryans raised my grandmother Ruth as foster parents and the McClures raised my mother as a foster child when my grandmother Ruth had twins after having my mother and then had another set of twins several years later. The connection to the Bryans was that my great grandfather (Dr. Alexander Stephens Hawkins) was married to their daughter Mary Bryan before he married my grandmother's mother, Sarah Clementine Lasiter. Sarah C. Lasiter's father was Wm. Lasiter and her mother was Susannah Mariah (Rogers) Lasiter. Susanna Mariah Rogers' parents were Dean Rogers and Purity (Davidson) Rogers. * See my "I need help" on the ARBenton-L rootsweb page for more Davidson, Rogers, Martin information. Mrs. McClure was the sister of Mary (Mammie) Bryan and the daughter of Mildred Bryan who was my Grandmother's foster mother. The McClures had no children of their own. As you can see it all turns into a family matter over generations with no one being blood kin but Mary (Mammie) Bryan and her Mother, Mildred Bryan and Mrs. W.D. McClure's who was also Mildred Bryan's daughter. My mother call Mrs. McClure Aunt Toddy. I do not have a real first name for her. I believe Mildred Bryan was a Wear before she married Charles Bryan. They lived first in Cassville, Barry Co., MO. Then Claremore, Coo Coos Wee Coo District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory or what is now Claremore, Rogers County, OK. I have so very old books that were my grandmother's that my mother had that I ended up getting when my parents died. Some of these I gave to my brother who was named after the families, Bryan McClure Kinney. Three last names. I told you this complicated. 2. Who ever is looking for Downum should look in the area around Miami, Delaware The Downum's were early pioneers who settled/homesteaded in and around Spring Creek (Benton County) in the mid-to-late 1840's. They were among the original founding members of the Spring Creek Baptist Church. Many Downum descendants continue to live in the area. Glenn Jones Director, Lowell Historical Museum Lowell, AR
