What kinds of things are housed there? How did Lowell get it's own museum? My Brown family lived in Lowell.
I have an article from the Springdale News, dated Friday, June 3, 1949, that concerns the death of Melvin Fields. It says he was born in War Eagle, the son of Joe Fields, but I cannot determine which Joe Fields he is the son of. He was survived by his wife, Birdie, three daughters, Mrs. Eula Mabry, Mrs. C. T. Smith, and Mrs. Harry O'Neal. Three sons, Albert, Orval, and Eugene. One brother, Carson, and one sister, Mrs. Fannie Joyce. I would like any one connected to this family that might have information on the Fields line to contact me. I have several Fields in Benton, Washington, and Madison Co. AR, and would like to be able to connect Melvin to one of these families.

I spent a couple of days in your corner of AR last summer and located some of the graves but didn't have time to locate the living. I didn't see the Goad Springs cemetery. Where is it located? I contacted one cousin in Washington but he didn't know any others. I am most anxious to contact some kin and talk them into DNA testing if possible. Historic Goad Springs cemetery is located one mile west of Lowell just off Hwy. 264 on South Goad Springs Road. The cemetery was officially deeded in 1853. Two of the Phillips buried there are Caroline 1840 - 1914, and her husband Robert M. Phillips 1840 - 1915. Robert was a Confederate veteran who served in Company E, 15th (NW) Arkansas Infantry Regiment. There are at least 20 Kendrick family members buried in the cemetery including Thomas B. Kendrick 1842 - 1905. Thomas served with Robert M. Phillips in the 15th (NW) Arkansas Infantry Regiment during the War for Southern Independence. Glenn Jones President, Goad Springs Cemetery Association, Inc.
I am looking for connections in AR. The Phillips family moved to Benton and Washington counties from Alabama in the 1800,s. Many of them are buried there. A family of kin was the Kendricks. Carolyn, Is Fay male or female? I find Maurice & Fay Fairman in South Bend, St. Joseph, IN with Muriel; however, it gives IL as birthplace for Fay. Fay B. & Goldie Fairman in Mansfield, Richland, OH with Willard and Wilbur; however, it gives PA as birthplace for Fay?? Are either of these your "Fay"? > [Original Message] > From: Carolyn Smith <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Date: 8/9/2005 6:24:29 AM > Subject: [ARBENTON] look-up for 1930 census > > Could anyone check the 1930 census for Fay Fairman birth year 1893 > Miami-Dade, FL. > > Thank you for your help. > > Sue > > > > ==== ARBENTON Mailing List ==== > To unsubscribe from this list, send ONLY the word UNSUBSCRIBE to the utility address [email protected] If you are trying to unsubscribe from the Digest list, use the same utility address but change the -L- to a -D- > > ============================== > Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the > areas they lived. Searching for any information related to Malinda (Kelly) Alderson born about 1850 in Georgia. Her son, David, was born about 1866 & daughter, Cynthia, about 1870. Malinda & her husband, William H Alderson, were divorced about 1874. There is some thought that both children died young and were buried in Friendship Cemetery near Springdale, but a recent search of the cemetery did not locate gravestones for the children. Malinda's sister, Louiza, & brother-in-law, Richard, were in Madison county until after 1880. Her sister Elmina, & brother-in-law, Joseph Brown (uncle of Louiza's husband) were living in Texas in 1880. It appears William H. Alderson married a second time, but the last record for Malinda is the 1874 Madison County entries related to the divorce. William H. ALDERSON was probably the son of Samuel & Scynthia (Brown) ALDERSON. There is some indication that Sam & Scynthia were also divorced prior to the 1870 Census. Members of the family may have lived in Madison, Benton, Washington or Carrol Counties. Any information related to any of these families or individuals will be helpful.
