    2. Can anyone tell me what years Nina Stevens taught at the Rocky Comfort school? Also, do you know when she married a Mr. Kelly/Kelley? Both may have taken place in the 1920's. Thanks, Carl in Ohio

    3. I just heard on our local news, that the pipeline that services Fort Smith in the Arkansas River Valley, and Rogers in Benton Co. is having a problem, and that there is no un-leaded gas in those areas at most stations. I hope I did not mis-understand, but this would definitely curtail any un-necessary trips.

    3. I have had to make a very hard decision, that for the time being, I will not be making trips to Fayetteville, Springdale, or Rogers to do any research. Because of the devastation by Hurricane Katrina, and the soaring gas prices, as well as other costs that will undoubtedly rise, I just cannot bring myself to make any trips that are not absolutely essential. Making sure that my husband will have gas to commute his 40 mile round trip to work and my 20 mile roundtrip twice a week to Church are first and foremost. I hope you all will understand this decision, and know that once I know what my economic situation will be, that I will resume the trips. God Bless all of you! Wilma

It was handed down to me and I have been trying to find documentation to go with it. I haven't been able to get past my George Newton Edwards to his dad Andrew Stripling Edwards and mom Mary Woodfin. My history also lists Andrew as Lemuel and Lemiel. So I have been looking for the other kids and their kids. I would love to know more about Charles Newton Edwards and his family if you are willing to share, but I don't really have much info to offer in return. I really wish I did. I do know the family came to Tennessee from North Carolina. Andrew Stripling Edwards is listed as the son of Thomas Edwards III and Mary Ann McClanahan. I believe this to be true since George (Andrew's son) named one of his own son's, George McClanahan Edwards (he died in 1958). Do your records show him as the son of Thomas III? Supposedly Thomas III was a war hero in South Carolina.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5U.2ADI/3921.1 Message Board Post: Hi Sherry, This family you are inquiring about has been so elusive. I really am not sure he was a son to John Hays and Lydia Sims, but it seems possible. They married in Dandridge, Jefferson, TN June 07, 1813. Ab Hays was on the 1860 Census of Wallace, Benton County, AR. From looking at that census: he is listed as A. B. Hays 47 farmer, b. TN, p. 270, h. 282-282. His age was 47 so he was born c1813. The census taker listed his birth state as TN. His wife was Neoma and he named one of his daughters Lydia. Lydia (possibly his mother) also lived in Benton Co., AR in 1860. If he were their child, then he would be the "first born". I've found nothing on the family other than this 1860 census. What can you add that might help identify them? Thanks for posting, Janice http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/hays_sims_notes.htm

I did not have the dates you provided here and I am always looking for more LEE family information. I will send you my genealogy report later today, but wanted to address some of the things you've written here - just in case more cousins see this and wish to correspond with us also. To correct something you wrote here - Martha (Shelton) was not the mother of John W. Lee's children. She had no children of her own, but her sister, Nancy (Shelton) was the mother of all the children. John W. Lee m. March 12, 1831 in Butler Co., KY to Nancy Shelton, b. c1808 KY died around the time of Antha's birth in 1844. John Wesley Lee married Martha Shelton July 02, 1845 in Benton Co., MO. They were on the 1850 Greene Co., MO census. I have not found any cememtery information on Nancy Shelton Lee. These girls were daughters of Abednigo & Nancy Gough Shelton. See my webpages for more on them all: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/shelton.htm - notes on Abednigo & Nancy Gough Shelton http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/leenotes.htm - notes on John Wesley Lee http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/generate.htm - notes on John W. Lee's two families http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/index.htm - the first page I made for John W. Lee http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janicekmc/sylnotes.htm - notes on George Sylvester "Sil" (my ancestor) As far as I can tell - there appears to be NO first cousin connection to John Wesley Lee and Gen. Robert E. Lee. I have looked and looked and can find nothing to connect them. But there are lots of things I want to know about this family - most importantly - who were the parents of John Wesley Lee. I would like to know where he is buried also. I think it was Grayson Co., TX, but so far, no luck finding it. I do look forward to corresponding with you. Regards, Janice [email protected]
