The information on the link below is old and out of date. I tried e-mailing Mike Boyd at the e-mail address on the web page to update some information; the e-mail address is no longer active. I believe most of the information is taken from the cemetery readings from back in the mid- to late-70's. There have been a few additions. Just don't expect to find many of the more recent listings. Just glancing through it, the most recent addition was in 1996 which was probably submitted by someone in that family. It is a wonderful resource to tell you where people are buried in earlier years. Sue ****** The cemetery index can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbenton/bccpg/bentc059.htm Sue -
Based on the Benton County Cemetery Index, there is not a listing for Gruver. Of course that is not to say they are not buried there. Many of the cemetery plots were marked with field stone as this was a very poor area of the state. Family at the time knew who was buried where. The cemetery index can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbenton/bccpg/bentc059.htm Sue -----Original Message----- From: arbenton-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arbenton-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 7:58 AM To: ARBENTON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARBENTON] Soloam Springs--obituary & Cemetery look-up- This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Hi, All! Just want to give a 'heads up" that the March obits will be delayed. My church is getting ready to move into our own building for out first service on Easter Sunday., and I was there 10 hours today waiting for deliveries, and setting up the office of our Music Minister, and shelving books, CD's etc.. Tomorrow, I am "vegging" out. Wednesday I have to be down to the hospital awaiting the arrival of new grandbaby ( labor induced), and Thursday a Dental appt. I am so behind on cataloguing the obits, so it will take me a few days to get caught up. I am the only "stay-at- home" person right now, so am on call to be at the church when the deliveries are made. Our Pastor and 9 others are in Haiti on a mission trip, and won't be back until Saturday, so several usually available people are'nt right now! Anyway, I have'nt fallen off the face of the earth, but just very, very busy on other things for the time being. Can't wait to get back to being of help to you all, and posting a few queries myself! Wilma
Phil, The fact that they were Baptists and had lived in Warren Co TN coincides with Henry's lines, too. Will let you know if I can prove the connection. Thank you for the information. Yes, that is the one...and the fact that there is a Henry in one of the children's names makes me think he could be the one I seek. You see, I'm looking down each of my direct Ford ancestor's children's lines. They all had a William born in that time frame in NC or VA and the other's (would be this Wm's cousins) went to Benton Co AR. Hope this is a bit clearer than mud, but don't know. That would mean that this Wm Ford would have been a grandson of "my" Henry and Frances FORD who lived in VA and who had other grandchildren in Benton Co AR..examples of those in Benton County who were from his lines are: Aaron Ford b 1844 in TN, died 1934 Benton Co AR his children: Wm Ford, Polly Ford who married REDWINE, Fanny Ford, Virginia Eliz. Ford who married James Bradley MOON, John Jackson Ford who married Susan PAYNE Albert C Ford who married Lillie BALNKENSHIP etc. Debbie Phil Smiley <hsmiley@mc2k.com> wrote: Here is a William Ford in my line, the birthdates are similar. Hi, In census I find Elizabeth Ford with husband James Taylor. Elizabeth's father in living with them in the 1880 census: James age 35, Eliz. 34. and her father, William FORD born NC age 77, would make him born abt 1803. Many of my FORD families came from NC and VA to Benton County... Can anyone help me identify which William Ford this one is?? Maybe son of Wm and Dicey Ford ; or son of Thomas and Becky; or son of Jarrell and Nancy? Would his wife be named in their daughter's marriage record? Thanks in advance for all replies.
