What I have heard about his parents cannot be properly verified. His father was reported to be JIM TAYLOR or JAMES KNOX TAYLOR, or JAMES POLK TAYLOR, born in TN or MO. His mother is reported to be EMELINE TALLEY or EMMLINE TALLEY, born in TN. I know of no other brothers or sisters of John. As a young adult John was a farmer in Denton Co Texas, and ultimately took his famly to Oklahoma.
