Dear List, Can anyone help decipher the entry for either Thomas AGW Herron or AGW Thomas in household 7 on the 1870 Fulton County Census for Northfork Township. I would like you oponion as to whether you think the surname is Herron or Thomas. The entry for household 6 is a P C Herron which I think is Pernetta C. Hutcheson Hawkins Herron, widow of Fielding Herron who must have died right before the census was taken as he died in 1870 but is not listed in this household. The son Porter listed is probably James Porter Herron as the age 14 would match what is known for him. P C Herron does NOT show up if you do a search on Ancestry. P Herron does show up on Heritage Quest but P C Herron does not show up if you search for it; however, if you just search under the surname Herron the entry is there. The entry is for household 6 and gives the head of the household and one son. Ancestry does NOT find an entry for Thomas AGW Herron; however, Heritage Quest does find such an entry. The entry is for household 7 and lists four other people. Ancestry does find an entry for AGW Thomas and it is for the same entry as the one Heritage Quest posts under household 7. If the entry is for a Herron surname, does anyone know who he is? He is 48 years old and a physician. It appears there is a wife Mary, Sarah a domestic and two small children in the household. If it for a Thomas surname then he is not related that I know of and I do not need to know anything except to eliminate the data from my file. I just cannot interpret the data to my satisfaction and would like your oponion if you could possibly take a look at that entry and tell me what you think, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Dorothy Boynton
