Several have commented on the information available on long time Doctor Henderson of Baxter County. There is much information available however a lot of it is flawed. The problem is trying to sort out which is the right person. There are numerous persons of that same name even several in Illinois at the same time. Henderson 42 IL, Nancy J. 37 TN, Dolia 11 MO, Martha 9 MO, William 7 MO, Toolie (f) 5 MO, Elizabeth J. 4 AR, Austin F. 2 AR. (Sararah B. Henderson 21 and John Birdsong 11 Servants) 1900 Census Arkansas, Baxter, Mill Twp. Reuben M. 66 IL, Nancy J. 60 TN, Martha J. 25 MO, Jane 22 AR, Nettie 18 AR. 1910 Census Arkansas, Baxter, Mill Twp. Reuben 72 KY, Elizabeth 66 TN, Martha 33 MO. Married 5 years. 1920 Census Arkansas, Baxter, Union. Ruben H. 81 KY, Lizzie (wife) 27 AR, Martha 43 (Dau.), Zelia 1 4/12 (Dau) So it looks like first marriage with Edith did not last past the Civil War. Don't know when he got in medical training but that may have been during this time as well. No known Children. Second wife Nancy J. Berry married ca. 1866. Seven known Children. Third wife Elizabeth J. Tracy married 20 Dec. 1903 Baxter, AR., Divorced 1908. No known Children. Fourth Wife Lizzie Light Forister married 20 Apr 1915. One known child, Zelia Henderson b. ca 1918.
