    1. Re: Mouncy Catherine Henderson Parks
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henderson, Whittenburg, Foster, Parks, Greathouse, Webber, Gibson, Carter, Kirkland, Dover Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4U.2ADI/1080.1.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.1.1.3 Message Board Post: There were two other Henderson families in Baxter Co. in 1880. One was Pleasant Henderson, and he had a son named William, and the other was Dr. R. M. Henderson, and he had a son named William also. I have never been able to connect my Shadrack to either of these families. Shadrack appears in the 1860 Census of LaClede Co., MO with his wife Mouncy and his son Benjamin. The next thing I find on him is that he married Mahala Jane Whittenburg. I do not know what happened to Mouncy and Benjamin, and have been unable to find their graves, nor have I been able to find Shadrack and Mouncy's marriage record. I do not know who Mouncy was. It should have been Isa Kasner. My typo. Sorry. I do not think her name to have been Isabelle. Mary, you think Shadrack looks Indian, others say Mahala Jane looks Indian for sure. My Dave thinks neither one of them look indian at all! That's why we need proof. To me, they look like my great grandparents. I have the article in Senior Focus. Now we have with this article Cherokee Indian, another member of the family on an equal plane saying "No, they were Chocktaw." Then other family members on an equal level saying "Western Cherokee" whatever that is. I have never found any of them on any Indian Rolls that I have searched. To me, they are great Grandpa and Grandma, and insofar as I know, they were hard working, decent, respectable people, and that's what is important to me. Mahala Jane's family was predominantly German for sure. Henry Parks married Ruby Greathouse. Ina Parks married Clyde Greathouse, so Inas Greathouse is a sister to Henry and the daughter of William Sigel and Mouncy Catherine Henderson Parks. About the Webber who killed the Greathouse. This was a man I called Bud Webber, who was convicted of shooting Noah Greathouse. I think there was some mitigating circumstances, because Bud Webber only spent a year or two, maybe even less, in prison. This is the only bad story I ever heard on Bud Webber. He first married ? Gibson, then she passed away, and he married Mary Carter, and they had several children. Aunt Fannie Parks always called him "Uncle Bud", and I think he was a real uncle to her. I knew him to be a kind man. He lived on Highway 201 on the hill north of the lake. By the way Mary, Bud Webber is the grandfather of your Wanda Lee Dover Kirkland. I have never been able to connect the three different Parks families of Baxter Co. My Parks family has intermarriages with the other two families. Nina
