Norma Gene DOSHIER was born on July 28, 1928 in Mountain Home, AR, the first child born to Orvil Herbert CRANFILL and Odis Alameda KIRKLAND. Norma grew up in the Ozarks and met her future husband at the age of 5, beginning a life long love story that only ended with her death on October 29, 2003. Norma married Gene R. DOSHIER on November 28, 1943. Gene immediately returned to action serving as a Gunner on B24s in WWII. Gene's plane was lost in action but Norma never gave up on his coming home. She took a job as "Rosie the Riveter" doing her part for the war effort and never stopped praying for his return. Gene was liberated from a POW camp with such severe injuries that he was not expected to live and never to walk again. Norma and Gene's love for each other, faith in God and undaunted determination built a union that overcame all obstacles. Norma loved her Lord, was devoted to her husband and children and gave freely and generously to others -- friends and strangers alike. Norma was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church where she served faithfully and actively since 1954. After raising her children, Norma worked along side Gene at Moody's Jewelry as a Customer Service Representative for over 20 years.
