    3. Bernie, I just ran across this data in my file: (c1748PA-1794TN) Col. Hugh Tinnin and his family appear on the Orange Co., NC Tax lists for 1779 as Hugh Tinning and 1780 as Hugh Tinnin. There are records of Hugh being made a Capt in the militia and he was appointed a Major of the Orange City Militia on 22 April 1776. During the Rev. War he was promoted to Colonel of the Orange City Militia and engaged in several conflicts. He was captured by the British at the disastrous Battle of Camden, SC (16 Aug 1780). As of 15 Aug 1781 he and his cousin Robert Tinnin were still imprisoned in Halifax, but was paroled shortly thereafter. He returned to Orange County and quickly resumed his rank and position with the Orange Co., militia. He married first in KY, went to MS and then Washington Co., AR; rewed about 1851 in Travis Co., TX and died in the vicinity of Austin, TX. Hartie Hartung = [email protected] _____ All of the children born after 1851 might belong to the second wife. _____ This might give you the Texas connection that you need. Also This Col. Hugh Tinnin is the father of my Azariah Tinnin born in MO and married in Baxter Co., to Amanda Wolf. I still have no idea who the Thomas Tinnin is because a Thomas has never been listed in my Azariah's family that I can find. His birth year would fit in there between other children but with as much work as has been done on the Wolf and Tinnin family, I think he would have been found before now. ha Azariah Tinnina and Amanda went to Bell County TX in 1867 and Azariah died there just three years later. I still need nelp in placing this Thomas Tinnin born in 45. db

    3. > I still need nelp in placing this Thomas Tinnin born in 45. db ********* Do you have a David born about the same time to Azariah Tinnina and Amanda ? I sent this yesterday. The age would make him about the same as the Thomas Tinnin you mentioned. The Cotter Record dated Aug 26, 1937 George Thomas Tinnon 92, born near Batesville died August 19,. Survivors are two sons: Hugh Tinnon and Sam Tinnon of Jefferson. (Batesville would be in Independence County) NOTE the name George ?????

    3. 3. Hi Peggy This census record is a bit misleading - unless George Smothers adopted the Heiskill children. Ella Beavers was married to a Heiskill; before her short marriage to George Smothers. Marriage record: John M. Heiskill 21 m. Ella M. Beaver 18 on 1 Feb 1910 Mrs. Ella M. Heiskill 22 m. George Smothers 24 on 15 Jul 1916 I don't know if George Smothers died or there was a divorce. I do believe that they had a daughter named Inez and judging from the 1920 census that you just posted; the child must have been deceased prior to 1920. Descendants of Ella M. Beavers 1 Ella M. Beavers b: October 1892 in Barren Creek, Baxter Co., Arkansas . +John M. Heiskill b: 1889 m: February 01, 1910 in Baxter Co., Arkansas d: August 10, 1929 Burial: Heiskill Cemetery-Baxter Co., Arkansas ........ 2 Elsie Heiskill b: 1911 in Arkansas ........ 2 Ben Heiskill b: 1913 in Arkansas *2nd Husband of Ella M. Beavers: . +George Smothers b: 1890 m: July 15, 1916 in Baxter Co., Arkansas ........ 2 Inez Smothers Burial: Heiskill Cemetery- Baxter Co., Arkansas The mysteries for me is who is George Smothers? And who is John M. Heiskill? These families sure dance around mine, don't they, Peggy? Heiskill? Smothers? Beavers? Haney? Ella Beavers' father was a brother to Elisha Elmer "Lish" Beavers. Lish Beavers was married to Mary Elvina "Maggie" Sinor; my ggrandmother's sister. Any ideas on the husbands of Ella Beavers? Which families that they might connect to?
