Peggy I have always been curious about the Wheats - because of the Melvina Smith intermarriage. Melvina Smith - in her mother's household - was living next to who I believe to be my Tom Smith in the 1880 Barren Creek census. Oddly enough, what I have learned about the Wheats was through a Cockrum researcher. As you know, my great uncle; Bill Smith was married to May Cockrum. So, the Smith surname is coming up in both lines - just don't know if they are my Smiths or not. This is what I have come up with on the Wheats. Unfortunately, the Wheat researcher did not know what happened to John Sherman Wheat and Melvina Smith. You provided me with the 1910 census and I did not have that.............so, appreciate it.
