Vera? I am looking into some research for Mary Green of the Baxter Co. List............and just realized that one of Gists must have been married to an unknown to me; Jones - prior to her marriage to Waite Sinor! This census record that Mary provided was the tip off: 1930 census of Cotter Town, Whiteville Twp., Baxter Co., AR (dated Apr 19, 1930) Sinor, Ola, hd., 30, m@15, AR, AR, AR, laundress & housecleaner-private families; Denny, Julia, sister, 46, m@18, AR, AR, AR; Denny, Jack W., bro-in-law, 52, m@23, AR, AR, AR, odd jobs; Gist, Elzira P., mother, 71, wd., m@15, AR, TN, TN; Sinor, Delphia J., dau., 6, OK, AR,AR; Sinor, Lois A., dau., 3 6/12, OK, AR, AR; Jones, Sollen T., son, 10, AR, AR, AR Mary "Ola" was a Gist by birth and evidently was married to a Jones in 1915 and I am quite sure that the marriage took place in Baxter County. Her Sinor husband was my ggrandmother's cousin; Winston Samuel "Went/Waite" Sinor. Ola's Sinor marriage was on June 03, 1922. Not sure, but again - am figuring that marriage was in Baxter County, also? Waite and Ola had two daughters that I know of...........Delphia and Lois. Waite died in Weatherford, Custer Co., Oklahoma in 1968 and I have Ola died in Lawton, Commanche Co., Oklahoma in 1966. I was not aware of a divorce at all - but, it sure looks that way? Waite also had a marriage to a Martha J. Wooten - but, I know not whether it preceded his marriage to Ola or not. I think that Martha had a sister named Mary Drisilla Wooten and this sister was married to Waite's brother; Daniel "Webster" Sinor.........and circa 1917? The only census record that I have for Waite is with him living as a young adult in the home of his parents; George Washington Sinor and Mary Amarylis "Amerilla" Crownover in 1910. In 1915; these Sinors migrated to Oklahoma - as well as some of the Gists may have - and Amerilla Crownover Sinor died enroute and is buried near Coweta, Oklahoma - of thyphoid fever. 26 April 1910 Baxter Co., Arkansas census, Barren Creek Township: SINOR, George head m w 48 md/1 29 YRS AR TN TN Mary wife M W 46 md/1 29 yrs 9/7 AR MS MS Went son M W 22 single AR AR AR John son M W 17 single AR AR AR Webster son M W 14 single AR AR AR Jesse son M W 12 single AR AR AR Douglas son M W 9 single AR AR AR Note: If my records are correct; Webster must have married Mary Drisilla Wooten in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma because I show his death occuring circa 1917 and shortly after their marriage? List archives - but, I found this one line in my records for Thomas Russell Gist.
