Bernie Been looking at the Gist in my Jones family, found a Thomas R. Gist in 1920 living with John A. Gist in Sharp County, Scott twp. He is listed has a cousin to John A. John A. is a son to Lucy Ann Jones, a sister to my 4g-grandfather, Nathaniel P. Jone. Lucy first married William Gist, he died about 1864. She then married a James Carter. Is this the same Thomas R. Gist you're looking for? Well here goes another name in the pot-- page 23 of Early Marriages Baxter Co Jennie Britt married W F Carter Sept 15 1895 I haven't figured out yet exactly who Jennie is but she is either the sister of my Henry Baxter Britt or else she is the sister to Barney Britt -Henry's father.
