Could I get you to find John Martin in the 1880 census and send me what you find. I just want to double check what it says. Was Clarinda/ Jane identified as his wife ? How old was she -- is Hardy listed as John's son? I just had this thought that maybe I didn't see what I thought I saw. Maybe Clarinda/Jane is not his wife. Hardy/Hardin was born on the "old Eldridge" place 1879 which I understand is in the Buzzard Roost area. Hardin and his wife Minnie lived around the East Oakland cem area all their lives. Hope that makes it easier for you to find them I thank you very much.
