Could I get you to find John Martin in the 1880 census and send me what you find. I just want to double check what it says. Was Clarinda/ Jane identified as his wife ? How old was she -- is Hardy listed as John's son? I just had this thought that maybe I didn't see what I thought I saw. Maybe Clarinda/Jane is not his wife. Hardy/Hardin was born on the "old Eldridge" place 1879 which I understand is in the Buzzard Roost area. Hardin and his wife Minnie lived around the East Oakland cem area all their lives.
