I will give you what I have in my Adams data base. You will have to check the information as I do NOT claim to be an Adams researcher. I have just collected what I felt connected to the Wolf family. I know of six different men that could have been known as William M. Adams. Five of them are connected to my Adams lines and one is from that Jesse and Rhoda (Martin) Adams line that was in the area but that so far we cannot connect to our line. 1. William Martin Adams born 1822 - son of Jesse and Rhoda (Martin) Adams and married to Sarah A. Smith (he is NOT of our line but certainly in AR area). 2. William M. Adams born 28 Feb 1828 - son of Peter F. and Lucinda (Wolf) Adams. He died at age 16. 3. William M. Adams born 13 Jun 1835 - son of Alexander and Elizabeth (McCubbin) Adams. He has the grandson who is also known with same (4) William M. Adams name. 5. William M. Adams born 1835 -1837 - son of Matthew and Pryscilla Catharine (Wolf) Adams. He married twice. First to Louisa Unknown and had three children: Sarah, Charles, Sevilla. These three children were born in Fulton Co., AR. Second, he married Arlena/Orlena I./Doxlena J. Unknown and had four children:Mary E., Erwin Earl, Maggie, Allie - all four born in TX. ( moved from AR to Texas at least by 1861) 6. William M. Adams born 16 Dec 1859 - son of John Quincy and Charity (Wood) Adams. He married Mary Josephine Dean. I believe the "M" in his name stands for Madison. (This person would have been a grandson to Matthew and Pryscilla Catharine (Wolf) Adams. db

I am very interested in a Sarah Tracy found in household #8 on the Fulton County 1870 Census for North Fork Township. Nancy Stanford is listed first in the household and she is house keeper. I have no idea who she is. Sarah Tracy 21 is listed next and she is housekeeper James Tracy age 4 Elisabeth Tracy age 2 I think I know that Sarah Tracy was Sarah G. Hawkins, daughter of Pernetta Hutcheson and A.B. Hawkins. She may have gone by Sarah Herron some as after her father died she lived with her mother and second husband Fielding Herron. I am pretty certain that is who she is because the son James Tracy, 4, listed on the 1870 census is found in the James Porter Herron household for the 1880 census as age 14. James Porter Herron would have been a half brother to Sarah Hawkins. I have no idea who the Tracy husband was. Can you help me out any at all. She would have had to marry about 1865 but a husband is not indicated on the census. db marybelle72653@yahoo.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Dorothy I think for sure it is Thomas, AGW. Note that the census taker always listed the last name for each household even though it was the same as the household above. The little "ditto" thing that has been marked out was probably just an error, looks like it has been scratched through. Maybe the census taker was about to list the Herron that died above, who knows. Note that Dr. Thomas was born in NY, that probably leaves out most of your Herrons. Dear List, Can anyone help decipher the entry for either Thomas AGW Herron or AGW Thomas in household 7 on the 1870 Fulton County Census for Northfork Township. I would like you oponion as to whether you think the surname is Herron or Thomas. The entry for household 6 is a P C Herron which I think is Pernetta C. Hutcheson Hawkins Herron, widow of Fielding Herron who must have died right before the census was taken as he died in 1870 but is not listed in this household. The son Porter listed is probably James Porter Herron as the age 14 would match what is known for him. P C Herron does NOT show up if you do a search on Ancestry. P Herron does show up on Heritage Quest but P C Herron does not show up if you search for it; however, if you just search under the surname Herron the entry is there. The entry is for household 6 and gives the head of the household and one son. Ancestry does NOT find an entry for Thomas AGW Herron; however, Heritage Quest does find such an entry. The entry is for household 7 and lists four other people. Ancestry does find an entry for AGW Thomas and it is for the same entry as the one Heritage Quest posts under household 7. If the entry is for a Herron surname, does anyone know who he is? He is 48 years old and a physician. It appears there is a wife Mary, Sarah a domestic and two small children in the household. If it for a Thomas surname then he is not related that I know of and I do not need to know anything except to eliminate the data from my file. I just cannot interpret the data to my satisfaction and would like your oponion if you could possibly take a look at that entry and tell me what you think, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Dorothy Boynton
