    3. Hi, Bernie! I intended to send an S.O.S. last night -- to you and Vera. From "Of Grave Importance," page 82: CUSTER-HERRON CEMETERY SMITH, Addie M., b. 6 January 1869, d. 30 November 1935 Bernie, I had this in my notes -- and originally thought was a SMITH wife -- but this may be your Add "Adder" SMITH, and they called him "Addie" like "Willie" and "Billie" for William. As I don't think you have dates for Add SMITH, it occurred to me this may be him. I thought perhaps Vera may confirm whether this is male or female by Arkansas Death Index (if it goes back that far) or from a newspaper account. You show his wife buried in Fulton County, so this may not be him, but worth a try. Because of budget cuts, they're closing the Vital Statistics office here on Greenwood at Archer on June 30th, and one would have to write to Oklahoma City. If there's someone you need a death certificate for, I could get it for $10 each. If so, send me the particulars. My dad had six sisters and I got all of them a few months ago, so need to get them for his four brothers. The nice thing about being going into this office, it only took about ten minutes. Peggy

    2. Hello, I am Cora Taylor Burton and live in Texas. I note that in your Fulton Co., Ar. census you have John Riely Taylor d. July 31, 1941 in Texas. He is my Grandfather on my Fathers' line. John Riley Taylor died July 13, 1941 and was buried July 15, 1941. I was with him when he passed away. Dad and I lived in Trinidad and I still live here. I agree that Charlotte Mae "Lottie" maiden name was probably Green. I wish that I could find more information on her and her family. I heard John and Lou Alice Holland Taylor(my grandparents) say that James Jefferson Parks, who married Mary Linnie Mae Taylor,( their daughter) was a cousin to John Riley Taylor. Uncle Jim Parks' parents are Robert Marion Parks and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor. I have pictures and marriage records for these couples. I would like very much to exchange infor. with anyone having any knowlege of these families. I would also like to know more about Jesse Taylor and his family. Where and when did Charoltte and Jesse Taylor die, where are they buried? Thank you for any help. Cora ( [email protected] )

    3. 3 / 5 TAYLOR Charlotte, age 32, F, Housekeeper; b. AR James, age 9, M, b. AR Mary, age 5, F, b. AR John, age 3, M, b. AR Ann, age 6 / 12 (Jan.), F, b. AR <<Would anyone know if Charlotte's maiden name is GREEN or MOULDER?>> Peggy I am basing Charlotte's maiden name of GREEN on just the fact that my gggrandfather; Jonathan Denton was in a Green household in 1860. This was the last record of him; as he died in 1864 at Atlanta: 27 June 1860 Fulton Co., Arkansas census, Page 436, Big North Fork Township, Post Office Gordon Ferry: GREEN, Robert 27 M farmer TN #19 Rebecca 24 F IL Joseph 5 M AR Francis 2 M AR George 1/12 M AR STONE, Margaret 24 F domestic IL STONE, Matilda 3 F IL DENTON, Jonathan 19 M farm laborer Unknown Note: This is Charlotte Green's brother; Roland/Robert Green and wife; Rebecca Stone. For years I wondered why Jonathan was living in that household and then with the help of Mary Green, I have come to the conclusion that Charlotte was a Green and that's why. She was married to Jonathan Denton's brother; George Denton. He too did not survive the War, dying at Pea Ridge. Last year I communicated with a descendant of John Riley Taylor (aged 3 in your 1870 census record)...........a gentleman by the name of James Parks. I believe that he agreed with me, that Charlotte was a Green, but to make sure - I would need to check my notes. But, the James in that 1870 census, he and believe was Hugh James Denton and he was one of the few children of Charlotte's to reach adulthoo. John Riley Taylor being the other. Mr. Parks also says that there was a daughter named Hattie and she died young - and was a Denton by birth and not a Taylor. I have forgotten why he thought she was a Denton, though. By the way, here is Charlotte's second husband; Jesse Taylor in 1860 and he too, was living in a Green household: 1860 Fulton Co., Arkansas census, Big Spring Township: GREEN, John 38 farmer TN #28 Lucy 29 IL William 13 AR Catherine 11 AR Maria 9 AR Martha 9 AR Sarah 4 AR Josephine 2 AR STONE, Daniel 6 AR Wiley 16 AR TAYLOR, Jesse Note: This was Charlotte's brother; John Martin Green and his wife; Lucy Ann Stone and family. So, as you probably already know - the Green, Stone and Taylor families were pretty tight knit and a real mess to figure out. But, I really think she was a Green, Peggy. Just my opinion.
