    3. Hi Vera, Jean--is Eugenia Louisa "Jean" Baker, d/o John Thompson Baker and wife, Louisa Clerendy Cypert. It's common, to misspell the name Eugenia--and my first cousin, Ellen Eugenia (Mayville) Barber pronounces hers as Eugena--and leaves the "i" out, in the pronunciation of it. 2. Jean Brandt
    3. Dear List, I understand that there are many Messicks living in Baxter, Co. & I know there are several Messicks living in Andrew Co. MO. Is there are relationship between them? I wonder this because my ggggrandmother, Lydia Messick, moved from Madison Co., KY to Platte Co., MO in 1840 & then to Andrew Co., in 1850. She moved with her sons, John & William, & their families. There was also her daughter Elizabeth & her husband, Thomas Kennedy. From Lydia's sons sprung a long line of Messicks in Andrew Co. Originally, they settled near Fillmore, MO. My grandmother, Nora Ellen Messick, was the daughter of Dudley Messick whose father was John. I don't know Lydia's parents; that one of the things I'm trying to find out. According to the 1850 census she was born in VA. Her birth date is another mystery. She supposedly died in 1871 at 100 years of age or older. However, census info. doesn't substantiate this. If anyone is interested I will be glad to share what I know about Messicks in MO & I would like to hear from anyone with any light to shed. Thank you. Jean
