Supposedly, Mr. Bob Withers reared my great-grandfather, Charley MOnroe Thurman and his brother Richard Perkin Thurman, too, after their parents died during the Civil War. They all had come from Henry Co., AL, and I assume must have known one another back there. Also, they all settled near Longview and the Prairie Chapel Community where lots of the withers are buried. Also, a Richard Withers married a Thurman girl, daughter of Wm. Anguish (Bill) Thurman. BETH THURMAN terrilee@ipa.net
