The only information I have is skimpy. While traveling they were near Singleton AR and she is supposedly buried in Miller's Chapel Cemetery. I looked on an old map and found Miller's Chapel in the SE corner of Ashley Cty. Straight across from Wilmot but before the county boarder. Her name was Polly Ann (Henson) Osburn. This was approx 1858. I am not sure if there was a settlement called Miller's Chapel or exactly what was there. I am hoping to gain some insight to the area and cemeteries. I do so much appreciate your generous help. Hi Frank, Actually there are quite a few older cemeteries that just never made it to the books - I've heard stories over the years about farmers pulling up and dumping tombstones in the bayou along Bartholomew and elsewhere - just one example of how a cemetery might never have been listed, or listed with only partial names when it did make it to the books. Then too, some of the oldest records of that area of the county are not to be found in Ashley Co, but in Chicot, and Morehouse Parish, LA - both of these are certainly close enough to justify a brief search of tombstone records and perhaps census info (since you are not quite sure as to the exact year of her death) just to be sure. My wife, Robin, has heard of Miller's Chapel, but is not sure just where or what it is (old town, church, or cemetery only). Her father, the most knowledgeable member of the family concerning that area, is out of pocket currently, but we will ask him when he returns. In the meantime I will look into what records we have concerning that area, and if I find anything will let you know. Herb Harris frank cook wrote: > > The only information I have is skimpy.
