    1. [ARASHLEY] Who submitted the John L. Wolfe information?

    3. _____ 25 March 2002 Dear Drew, Bradley, and Ashley County lists: Does anyone know who submitted the LDS' IGI information regarding John L. Wolfe, described below? All I can ascertain from it is that the ordinance "work" is "IN PROCESS," but no submitter or source information was present. I am trying to determine John's parents' identities, and this submitted information has it that they were John J. Wolf and Mary Stevens, names familiar to many on the lists, especially the Drew Co. list. However, I've been pretty reasonably assured by those researching Drew Co. Wolfes that my Bradley Co. ancestor, John Wolfe, was not among the sons of John J. Wolf. So, I then tried two different routes. Firstly, I investigated an oral tradition about Vicksburg, MS. However, in 1845 there were only two Wolf families in Vicksburg, and only two marriages, i.e., in 1841 and in 1844 ... but, nothing for Catherine Wolfe and Amos Savage, and nothing for the parents of Catherine and John. Secondly, I found Bradley Co.'s Perry Woolf's 1817 IGI birth information, derived from the Matlock family Bible on microfilm. Also, Perry Woolf's ancestry is documented back to 1724, both on the Web, and from descendancy charts from a specific researcher. Perry was a farmhand staying with Amos & Catherine (Laque Wolfe) Savage in Sumpter in 1850. But, Perry's father, Redding Woolf, had died about 1821, prior to the births of Catherine (1825-1860) and John (1828/29-1871+). Also, Catherine & John don't seem to exactly fit in (at present) with the families of the brothers of Redding Woolf, i.e. Fielding, Alfred, James Brandon, etc. So, then I noticed the "IN PROCESS" status for the LDS' ordinances, under IGI options, as reproduced below. So, I'm back to wondering again if it might not be so (about John J.), and about who the submitter might be. It would seem as though the submitter has a birthdate from a family Bible, by the looks of it (as there's no death date from a tombstone). Such a family Bible would be invaluable. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. --- WOLFE, John L. b. 29 Sep 1824, , Alabama Father: John J. Wolf Mother: Mary Stevens Baptized: IN PROCESS. Sealed: IN PROCESS. Sealed to Parents: IN PROCESS [...presumably Perry Co., AL] --- WOLFE, John L. m. abt. 1870, , Arkansas CURRY, Anna Belle Sealed to Spouse: IN PROCESS [These are my great, great-grandparents, but I'm not certain that John even had a middle initial. Their last child was John Lafayette Wolfe, b. 25 June 1871, Johnsville, Bradley Co., AR. My 1GGM was their firstborn, Louiza Catherine Wolfe (1854-1920). So, it would seem that the submitter is descended from their son, J.L.W., based on the date given, i.e., m. abt. 1870.] --- Please help, if you can.
