Several people have inquired about the Ashley County Eagle book. It is "Excerpts from the Ashley County Eagle, 1889-1914" published by the Ashley County Genealogical Society in 2000. It's 253 pages of items excerpted from the weekly paper, with an every-name index of 47 pages. Births, marriages, deaths, and society items that show a relationship between people are the main things in the book. Since the courthouse burned in the 1920's, destroying many records, this little paper may be the only place one finds family information. It was for me. I get nothing from the book; I donated it to the Society.
