Greetings Arkansas Researchers, I wouldlike to invite you to check out the Arkansas Gravestone Photo Project and participate in its growth as it will only grow with everyone's involvement. The Arkansasgravestones.org is a wonderful tool to preserve the headstones of your ancestors. With the advent of time and weather and vandalism, our headstones are disappearing at an alarming rate. We need to work on preserving a digital image of our family stones as a fitting tribute to our ancestors. This site is an easy-to-use site that exists to make this preservation possible. Additionally there is no cost to the contributor or to anyone wanting to view the photos, hard to find in this day and age where everything costs something. Plus this is a great way to have a backup for all those photos you presently have. There are no annoying ads flashing, moving or popping. Particularly valuable are those very old headstone photos that you have in grandma's photo album. Scan them into your computer and add them to the site as they may be the only testament to your ancestors life. Share them with the world. This is link for the Arkansasgravestones.org GPP Arkansasgravestones.org has just come on line. We are presently working to get it setup and we would invite you to check it out. Also, I am asking for your help, please add your photos to the site. Every county will have space. I am your Arkansas State coordinator and I am truly excited about being involved. If you need help in adding your pictures i will be glad to help....another great way to save a grave. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at tootied@suddenlink.net to respond to this message. Many of you know me for my SHARP research. Any one interested in hosting any of the counties i would like to hear from you. For you information there are 11 more states with the gravestones.org sites and more are being added. Thank you very much! For those in the County, and are decsend from the Adams and the Ferguson Families; this movie is for you. It was written by your family, produced by your family, and is being put out by your family which you belong to. Hope you are able to see it, as I understand, they did quality work, and was directed in period as well as historical manner. Carolann In a message dated 4/3/2007 7:49:46 P.M. Here are a few things: Saturday, June 2nd in Columbia, SC we will be having the SC premiere of "The Last Confederate: The Story of Robert Adams" at the Donen Film Festival (named for Stanley Donen - the famed director who is from Columbia). It will be at the Hampton Preston House and will be a nice event. The film will be in theaters in limited cities in the south starting in late May/early June. We are setting dates with NY and LA theaters as well. The DVD comes out June 26th and PPV, Video-On-Demand, etc., will begin near that date. You can already pre-order the DVD on Amazon. Amanda CARLOCK and her family are listed as black on the 1910 census, so they are most likely not related to the family of Frederick Cornelius CARLOCK of Ashley Co., AR. I will keep information about this family in my database for future reference. Please contact me if you need information on this family.
