    2. Hi: Don't think so. Although, we were never told as children, and their wer 11 of us, that we were kin to anyone in Wilmot. My father - grandfather came to Wilmot, Arkansas in 1840 from Georgia (David Milton Grant) and I am sure someone where along the line -- we were kin to someone in Wilmot - but my father never said. Supposedly, Mr. Bob Withers reared my great-grandfather, Charley MOnroe Thurman and his brother Richard Perkin Thurman, too, after their parents died during the Civil War. They all had come from Henry Co., AL, and I assume must have known one another back there. Also, they all settled near Longview and the Prairie Chapel Community where lots of the withers are buried. 3. Yes, this is a commercial site it seems - which may or may not be anything to worry about - I do think it would be better when anyone wished to post links to such commercial sites they first clear it with the list administrator. In this case I would most likely have seen no harm in posting this information, but there are others that I have asked not to in the past. So, Ben, if you are still online, please clear it with list administrator prior to posting commercial links. For those wishing to have a venue to post information and/or links about and/or to commercial sites that might conceivably have relevance to Ashley County, the most appropriate place would be the Ashley County ARGenweb site. I found some time on my vacation to get that set up - a start anyway. http://www.rootsweb.com/~arashley/arashley_Index1.html is the url for the site. 3. Hello Betty, Sorry, could you narrow it a bit more than that? I don't have any SHUMAKER or WARREN surnames listed in my personal research material at hand. If I have a specific cemetery location to check I may be able to go there to verify a listing, but I have no personal knowledge of those surnames. In the event I do at some point stumble across some children with the SHUMAKER name, do you know which ones would be the ones you are looking for, or would you be interested in any that I may find of that time range? Also, do you happen to know where in the county these folks were? I don't get around to the east side much, though we do occasionally go there, so there is more chance that I could find graves or verify listings for locations on the western part of the county. A township listing from census information will generally be enough to tell me which way to head...
