So, I have compiled a list of the groups available, that I'm aware of. (There are also a few updates!) Again, please keep in mind, that many of these are relatively new groups, but there's no better way to spread the news, than "word of mouth". A few people shared the news of our Newton County group, and it now has nearly 1,000 members, with lots of stories, photos, and family connections! Just another resource for researchers!! Hi! http://namaskarindia.info/_main.news.yahoo.com?unjrafu=6410577&ozecoke=846343
Teresa "Tessi. the dockbabe" Kathleen McCoy Bernard, 48, of Mikado, MI, died in a home fire April 23, 2010. She was born in Burbank, CA, June 21, 1961 to Calvin & Emily (Elledge) McCoy Jr. She married Dennis Paul Bernard April 5, 1998, and they moved to Mikado, Michigan. Teresa was an avid bowler, a member of the Barton City Eagles Aerie #4141 Auxiliary, and a member of the American Legion of Mikado Auxiliary. She enjoyed her work as a DNR Boat launch security guard. Many on the internet know that she was a good researcher, extremely helpful to others, especially newbies, a jigsaw puzzle fan ( http://www.jigzone.com/gallery/042509E5FB.7A4457C?z=0 ) and photographer willing to stop and take the pictures that represent all that was good about where she lived, worked and played - fresh new snow, birds, sunsets, critters near the house. We know of trips to story time at the library, to the sand beach, gardening, playing in the van, exploring about the homeplace and efforts to make a driftwood garden. We all know of the dockbabe and the fun she had at the dock, out in the open air, interacting with people, a human attribute that was instantly recognized thru the net as it was in real life. We all know of the' lil luvs' and the joy shown in their fun life experiences as babes - where the simple things bring great fun and joy. We watched them grow thru the lists and we all watched Tessi move from short little one line comments to telling us about life in Michigan and of her internet ‘finds’ pertaining to family. Genealogy researchers will be able to see the spark, the life and how she reached other people by going to this link http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/search?aop and entering tessi , not tessie in the FROM field. Please, enjoy the wonderment of how she approached life and how she touched people she never knew face to face. Teresa is survived by her mother,a daughter Michelle McMillian, and two sisters; Patricia (Kevin) Baldwin of Mikado and Jody Lynn Best of Arizona, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband and two young daughters, Teresa Ona-Elizabeth Bernard, 9, and Amanda Regina-McCoy Bernard, 7. died in the fire with her . A memorial for the Bernard Family was held May 4, 2010 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, MI, with Rev. Tedd Galloway officiating. All members were cremated and remains are held by family. According to Rod Cordes, chief of the Barton City Fire Department, the Mikado Township Fire Department was dispatched to 587 Kahn Drive at 5:32 a.m. The Barton City Fire Department, Greenbush Township Fire Department, Curtis Township Fire Department and Lincoln Fire Department were called for assistance. There were reports by neighbors that the family was still inside. "Apparently from what I understood it was a neighbor next door that saw the fire and called in it. I don't really know who originally (called)," he said. Cordes said there were four confirmed bodies removed from the home - two adults and two children. According to a press release from the Alcona County Sheriff Department, the home was owned by Dennis Bernard of Mikado. The names of the victims are being withheld until positive identification can be made by medical examiners. According to the release, the house was fully engulfed when the department and deputies arrived. As the blaze was being extinguished, deputies and firefighters were able to determine there were four residents of the house unaccounted for. Upon, further investigation four people were found dead in the house. Firefighters had the fire extinguished by around 8:30 a.m. and all of the departments except Mikado Township had cleared the scene by around 11:30 a.m. The remaining crews cleaned up up hot spots, Cordes said. The state fire marshal from the Michigan State Police was called in to assist in the investigation to determine the cause of the fire, Cordes said. An evidence technician from the sheriff department and the county's arson investigator also are working with the state fire marshal. At this time authorities do not believe there was foul play and autopsies are scheduled for all four victims at Spectrum Health Center in Grand Rapids, the sheriff department said. Cordes said as of 4:45 p.m. on Friday the fire's cause was undetermined. He anticipated the investigation running through the weekend. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bodies ID’d from fire June 9, 2010 The four people who lost their lives in the house fire in Mikado, Michigan on April 23 have been positively identified, according to a press release by the Alcona County Sheriff's Office. Dennis Bernard, 68, was previously identified at his autopsy. The positive identification of the other three victims could not be made until medical examiners reviewed their medical and dental records. The names of the other three victims are Teresa Kathleen Bernard, 49, Teresa Ona-Elizabeth Bernard, 9, and Amanda Regina-McCoy Bernard, 7. All of the victims lived at the residence in Mikado. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined. Two ignition sources are being investigated; and both appear to be accidental in nature. There are no indications of foul play at this time. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ and http://www.wbkb11.com/m_articles/c/357/mid/1179 ++++++++++++++++++++++

Could any one do a look up for a Lucy Frances Cornwell b. 1 Nov 1889 in Mo. this could possible be a married name, before she married George Jackson Miser. I would be interested in parents and if this is a marriage name, looking for a marriage and divorce papers thanks. It is believed that she married G. Miser around 1910 in Stone Co. THANKS G. Stevens Also would like a lookup for George Miser when he married a Kansas Beckham and when they divorced they had one child. also married in Stone Co. --------------------------------- Boardwalk for $500?
