Today marks the last day Rootsweb mailing lists working. Tomorrow, the Rootsweb mailing lists are no more. All messages that had been posted here are saved and archived, will continue to be accessed and read. Subscription, no more Postings, no more Replies, no more BUT ! Successor lists are here, but at another place The successor list for this list is: https://groups.io/g/Arkansas-Genealogy sorry, no county list for this one, yet but the list owner may create "subgroup" for the county alone, within this state list. Go to the site and "join this group". This is easy step. David Samuelsen, subscriber

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a minute to remind you all that you’re on this list and invite you to post your queries, questions, comments, data, etc. It has been said by Rootsweb that mail lists that aren’t active will be deleted. Let’s make sure this isn’t one of those lists!! Please remember the following when posting: Stick close to the topic of the list. Sometimes posts will go a tad off…that’s ok. But please no politics, no chain letters and don’t be rude to others. If you don’t like something that was posted please contact me at pcmom@aol.com <mailto:pcmom@aol.com> and I’ll look in to it. You all have a great day and start posting! :-) Dee List Admin

Hello My name is Dee and I’m the admin of this list. I would like to invite everyone on the list to send your queries, questions, etc. through so other researchers can help you! A few things to remember: 1. Please don’t be rude to others – if you don’t like what they post, please delete. 2. Rest assured I am watching the list. If something goes through that is inappropriate I am taking care of it. 3. Sometimes lists go off topic. Any list I admin is welcome to do that, so long as it doesn’t veer off the topic of genealogy itself. 4. Have Fun! If you have any questions regarding the list, please feel free to email me directly at pcmom@aol.com. If you receive this message more than once I apologize. It means you are a member of more than one list that I admin. Thanks a bunch! Dee Pavey List Admin

He was in the Battle at Elkhorn. my computer crashed and i lost all my info on about 30+ generations .Hopefully there is someone on the list that can give me info on this regiment and my my grandfather
Thank you for notifying me that my account had been hacked and not assuming that I was sending out "spam" messages. My sincere apologies for the not-so-nice messages that were sent to the AR-ROLLCALL@rootsweb.com site. After having both my laptop and my home computer thoroughly checked - they were clean with no viruses, malware or spyware, I contacted my e-mail provider - AOL. They checked my account and yes, someone had hacked in and in fact was currently online using it, (even though I was completely disconnected and off-line). They called it a “compromised account.” That account was deleted, my password and security settings changed and according to the AOL technician, my account is now clean! My user name is still good. Thanks again, Billie
This is to let you know that my e-mail address list was recently high-jacked. If you were fortunate enough not to receive a bogus e-mail from my screen name - lucky you! To those of you who got one (or more) - Sorry! Usually there is a link somewhere in the message and if you click on it you will see an ad for a Canadian Pharmacy, a Work from Home ad, or some sort of physical enhancement offer. I'm sure this is how I got high-jacked. I did receive a few of these e-mails from friends and I clicked the link thinking they had just forgotten to include information in the subject line. That won't happen again! However, I now know I need to update my address book as I've received at least 400+ bounced messages. Thus far, I've had both my laptop and my home computer checked - no viruses, malware or spyware, so I today contacted AOL and they checked my account and yes someone had hacked in and in fact, was currently using it. They called it a “compromised account.” So they deleted that account, I changed my password and security settings and according to them my account is now clean! My user name is still good. Therefore if you receive any e-mail from me it needs to have something in the subject line that sounds like it came from me. I don't just forward mail (:RE) And, don't click on any links that look suspicious! Billie
