Do you happen to have a paper from 14 December 1929 or a day or two later. which has an obit for James Levander SYKES( died 14 Dec 1929) from Boothe, Ar.? If so I sure would appreciate. Thanks. Also question, how far back do the old news papers go, approx. Sandra D. Xx2sjd@aol.com & Sdehartok@aol.com
Sandra My microfilmed news papers are for Crawford County Arkansas only and the years are 1843 to 1912. If you contact the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock I believe they would have the microfilmed copies of Boothe, Arkansas for 1929. If you have the exact date of the death they will research it for you for a fee. It has been a while since I requested this type of information and I can not remember their fee but I believe there is a minimum required. I am sorry I am not more familiar with their policy on this. Also you might want to check with the LDS in Salt Lake City, and see what newspapers they have on file for that area and you can order the microfilm through your local LDS location.
