Nan, That's why I wanted to see those articles. I was wondering if they were trying to encourage people to move there... the names you mentioned didn't ring a bell for me but my family was living in Eureka Springs and didn't move to CA until the 1920's...but they ended up in Parlier which isn't far from Visalia.
