Yes, I am getting the message. If the majority of you would prefer, I will refrain from posting the indexes to the books on this list. I thought I was being helpful and that everyone would be able to understand that it would be time consuming to do look-ups on this many names. If anyone would like the indexes of any future books e-mailed to them, please e-mail me privately and I will get them out to you. As Diana pointed out earlier, the index allows members to find their ancestor(s) name and also what year they were mentioned in the Van Buren Press. These microfilms are available at the History Commission in Little Rock, Arkansas. The cost of the film is $25 per roll and a microfilm reader is a valuable asset when one doesn't have a great deal of time to spend in the public facilities doing research. Thank you for your comments and they have been duly noted. Fran, I do really appreciate all you do for us! I have some of your books on my list to Santa and am more than willing to pay such a small price for them as they will save me a lot of legwork, I'm sure! I'm sorry that some can't see the work and effort it takes to do all this. I guess they've not done lookups before, it takes a LOT of time and effort! Thanks again, Fran! Fran, Since I posed the question earlier, I feel that I need to again apologize for any misunderstanding. I tried to carefully word my query regarding the purpose of this list, so as not to offend you or anyone else. I just wanted to be clear on what the intent was for starting this list. I am only one person, and I have only recently joined the list. During that time I have seen materials posted that were from the index for people. I posed a query regarding one name on the list, and there was never a response. I do not wish to make it look like I was not aware of the value of your work. I do. I have been searching for the past 30 years. During that time I have done a lot of lookups for people in materials that I have purchased. I share freely with anyone on the lists to which I belong, and I look carefully at peoples queries and respond if I can help. I know what time and investment it takes to be involved in this work. Though I saw many names on your lists that are in my Northern AR families, I did not pose queries about any except one of these, because I know what sort of time and effort is involved. If I felt that there was something concrete which would fit into my research, I would be the first to ask how to purchase materials you might have to offer. I do feel that it was not clear as to what was to be expected here, and I asked for clarification. I am sorry that you are offended, and I hope that you will continue with your work. I hope that others will continue to seek your help. Kay Cooper, CA, researching families in Cleburne, Van Buren, White, Stone, Searcy, Marion & Independance Co from 1820's on.
