Janet, The Arkansas Gazette is on microfilm at the Arkansas History Commission & State Archives, the Central Arkansas Library in Little Rock and many universities and colleges. It is indexed in typescript from 1819-1899 & 1960 by Librarian Shannon Henderson at Arkansas Technical University in Russellville, AR. We have this microfilm at Harding University in Searcy where I am a professor emeritus, and I have made myself a note to check the index on my next trip to the campus. I will check the index for 'Deaths,' 'Murder,' and the surname. This will discover it, if it exists. With the date, page and column locating the article, you can order it from the History Commission for $5 in AR or $10 out of state. If I can print it here I will, but will need your snail address in order to mail the actual copy to you. Weekends are notoriously busy for me, but I will make the search within 5 days--5 hours, if possible.
